Simple man lang ni karon sir.
human nako anang mga hi-tech and very complicated set-up. gastus lan.
Done with all the research and all the test with the physico-chemical characteristic of water and other media (thanks i have an access in Bureau of Fisheries and Aquatic Resources (BFAR) for the test)
But still algae, plant die off and other problems are coming in.
What i did now is breaking some of the hobbyist rules.
im using:
1. mactan stones - a no no for others bec of CaCo3 issue. I used HCl acid to clean them, murag gilabhan sa ka buwa and the result pwerting putia sa mga bato ug drift wood.
2. Rain water - some says di kuno pwedi coz contamination from roof issue. but i used them rather than top/deepwell water w/c is hardwater (alcaline). kapoy kuskus sa calcium deposit sa waterline sa aquarium.
3. garden soil, fine and course sand and clay. - accg to my research clay helps give red plants maintain its color at low light situation.
4. Odyssea 29w X 2 T5 tube. photo period 4am to 8am and 5 - 9pm - breaking another rules...
5 Filter Eheim 220. Yes i know kulang ni.
6. CO2 - 24 hrs. kapoy sige on and off another rules nga gi break...
7. change water every week -20 to 30% (rain or miniral water nga gipabugnaw sa gawas) early morning around 4am to lower tank temp.
Some testers and gadget are thrown away kay samok sa panan-aw.
I am not recommending this sir, although I tried this and works for me,
this might not work sa uban.
Thank you sir. sige PM lang. thanks. Hatagi lang nya pud ko imu number para ma update sa meeting sa Sunday, tunga lang pud sir.
First of all, you ARE welcome to this thread. What makes you think you are not? EVERYONE is welcome here at Aquatic Cebu Enthusiasts, we asked a lot of questions and we keep an open mind. We are open to out of the box experience and we welcome and even encourage them to explain and expound what they have shared.
Second, you don't need to remove your previous posts, these are sources that would define that there are no boundaries in planted aquarium keeping.
We just need an honest to goodness post, and we can smell alternicks a mile away. We would like to help, believe me. As much as we are always learning even if we have experienced a lot in this hobby.
Thank you and keep on sharing.![]()
