^ expected naman nga init ang i7 because of the 130W TDP at stock settings pa ni ha, pila na kaha ang TDP when you started raising the voltage pero its nice to hear this from you who has first-hand experience with watercooling.

    someday ako sad.

yup i checked TDP at 4.2ghz 1.28v and it was +- 147W while priming, not sure if thats right. So at 4.4ghz, taas2x pa gyud. I think stock vcore niya is 1.21v hence the 130W figure.

lingaw sad watercooling bro, hopefully daghan na ta maka watercool ani para daghan mag exchange notes.

Intel Burn Test na, go! go! go!

from the words of the wise simoko: if you play with fire, be prepared to get burned.

In my opinion, the current Intel Processors are very hard to kill with temperature due to the following features implemented. (I cannot locate the same specs on Core i7's datasheet so I'm using the 65nm C2D's definition of terms for E6xxx and E4xxx) : TCC (Thermal Control Circuit), #PROCHOT and #THERMTRIP. None of these features can be disabled or configured in the BIOS.

To put it short and simple: Once the processor finds itself in PROCHOT# status, it activates TCC (thermal control circuit) and lowers down frequency and voltage and if all else fails, activates #THERMTRIP until all conditions to de-assert these features are met. You really can't kill it this way although with persistent overheating, you shorten the life of the component and of course, kill it eventually pero who in his right mind would keep the processor overheating, di ba?
