another thing, can you shoot 3 people driving in a small, military jeep, and then composite certain backgrounds such as deserted roads with corpses all over into the MOVING, CONTINOUS shot of the characters driving? i guess you're probably gonna need to

that kind of thing has been done in UNDERSIEGE 2; also i can't think of a highway or place for the cast and crew to drive into that has that kind of desrted, apocalyptic hell of an environment.




also, don't worry about me tipping off a little of that scifi story....... i'm censoring myself and i don't think anyone else knows what i'm talking about here

But how many guys here can do compositing, matchmoving, matte painting, miniature building and photography I think they should be welcomed MORE into the group than any other people. i guess they're just as important as the actors we're looking for ...... for miniatures i'm particularly intrigued if there's ever anyone who can IMITATE Sko technology word, for word, verbatim, but imrpovised... come on, doesn't anyone here know Dennis and Robert??

Though your suggestion can be done but then comes the question of the availability of resources. I guess, apocalyptic hell environment can be shoot and visually manipulated in a more metaphoric or abstract way, without giving the audience or viewer to much hint of what is going on in the screen.

mmmmmm, well, it'll be great if we can all say "Fck it, I don't care". and then just shoot the thing, say 3 days of principals as long as the actors are there......

i mean, first we get this scifi thingy over with...... cuz its hard to do. and then have it put together at NEEROD............ and if we need help, we'll just turn to r/brey so we can tweak it up further........ unya ngilngig na kaau atong salida!

[size=9px]hi there! i am very interested to know more about this film makers' society that you want to establish...actually, i don't know much about the technical side of filmmaking but i do have a knowhow of its creative side (particularly the initial stage of moviemaking)...i am a scriptwriting student here in new york...pero gusto sad ko mu proceed ug film jud later on because i wish to direct my own scripts one day (a la sofia coppola ...anyways, after reading your forum, i got really psyched because it means that there is a movement going on in cebu na, and i always believed that cebu is a great place to make movies...maybe my feeler is right: cebu has a very good potential of becoming asia's hollywood :mrgreen: [/size]

mrbiddle: im not an expert. hehehe. id rather make an artificial art film. that way we wont have to worry about cheap CGs and effects. its all about the actors and the cinamatography. and of course the script. and there aint a decent place in cebu to shoot. we dont even have a metropolis setting. sm is a lone building surrounded by nothing, ayala business park is passable. fuente is too mixed up. i cant think of one place in cebu where we can get a decent shot, off the top of my head.

janips_03: it's not a movement really. its more like a relative allocation. heheh.

um, ....... he already gave me restrictions. i've gotten started with the synopsis already but for some reason, i think i didn't restrict myself enough


actually, like i said the highway with lotta craters on the ground from mabolo to mandaue is pretty "desolate" to me......... in one scene i guess MEDIUM SHOTS or not so close C.U.'s will hide it plus everything's in motion.

my heart's really set on making CAFE (r/brey, did you read it by the way )....... but as what i was told, it can't be done........

i havent read it yet... what cant be done? maybe you should layoff the violence and pyrotechs a bit, then maybe it can be done.

why dont you make cafe? buy a damn camera and make it. hehehe. just make things simple for a while. it doesnt have to be groundbreaking. we are all just starting for chrissakes. we havent even done one movie or short yet. dont let delusions of grandeur block the creative energy. heehhe

of all the three (below average) shorts i wrote for NEEROD productions, i think CAFE is the leeeeeeeast ambitious. and the most plausible (even if it still has a lot of problems)..... the first 2 were written traditionally.... CAFE has fcked up structure.

i emailed it to you.

if you read it, take note i didn't write it in that draft, but "THE SUMMER WIND" by frank sinatra is supposed to play in the beach scene....

the problem with CAFE is that there's a scene in a mall. with lots of extras. INSIDE A CROWDED CYBERCAFE, and then finally there's a scene where a nigg.... African American falls 3 stories down

thats why it can't be done. but its still the least ambitious of the 3 short sp's i've made recently. no pyrotechs or gunblasts
