"The Pacific" from the makers of "Band of Brothers"

You guys are forgetting something here.

Band of Brothers was based on ONE book, Stephen Ambrose's "Band of Brothers"...





"The Pacific" on the other hand, is based on several memoirs/books:

1. "With the Old Breed: At Peleliu and Okinawa" by Eugene Sledge

2. "China Marine" by Eugene Sledge

3. "Helmet for My Pillow" by Robert Leckie

4. "Red Blood, Black Sand" by Chuck Tatum

Since bulag-bulag ang source, and not ONE book, natural, katag-katag pod ang "feel" sa miniseries, murag loose and wala'y binding element, like in Band of Brothers, which is based only on a single book.

While I didn't like this miniseries as much as BoB, I do understand nga since dili lang based on one book, mao nga ing-adto ang pagka-presentar sa miniseries, kay different sources man ang accounts of the Pacific war with the US Marine Corps.

Here's my 2 cents .... Like Rod said , BOB is based on one book while The Pacific is based on Several, Moreover I like both for what it is , BOB was the European theater of war and The Pacific was this part of the world. We can't compare both Miniseries because it is truly different, it is what it is .... I know I know we all miss Capt Winters , heck how many of you still watch Band of Brothers in one sitting, Guilty here! But if you compare BOB to The Pacific you will never appreciate the stories that are shared to us in The Pacific. I am happy and content that Sledge's , Leckies and Tatum's stories were shared to us

kung nakuwangan pamo, try watching WW2 Lost Films. this is from the History Channel. its a documentary telling a chronological story of the war from the views of the veterans combining interviews and commentary and various actual, color-enhanced footage from Europe and the Pacific (similar to the actual footage you see in both miniseries). the last episode i watched talked about guadalcanal. so far i see 4 episodes available for download from the interwebs.

As to Operation Barbarossa, if any miniseries would be done about it, I doubt that it would be an American production.

I've always longed for a movie or TV series about the Luftwaffe, but since they involve the "evil side", no respectable American film/TV company would want to do a movie about Nazis basking in their prime.
