    Nice scores andz -wow!

so let me get this right - those scores would be the other way round if you used vantage? why is that?

  4. #294
Yes, Vantage is made specifically better for Nvidia Cards especially because of PhysX.

If you notice in review sites like x-bit labs and techpowerup, they don't use Vantage, they use 3dMark06 for fair game

I still have my score of my 295 in vantage:

I assume 4890X2 would be either a little lower or little higher if not the same.

    Nvidia Rules 3DMarkVantage~

so ang conclusion aneh kay if ATI card imo na buy then use 3DMark 06 but if NVDIA card then use Vantage hehe

....back to topic - water cooling

i did a little non-scientific test. Some of you may remember my setup, i had both the gpu and cpu blocks running in 1 single loop through a dual 120 radiator.

    Here are some thoughts:

    * the dual rad is definitely not enough to cool both cpu AND gpu even at moderate oc's. Idle temps were between 45-50deg 4.2ghz at 1.28v - load as you can see in some of my screenshots - 80deg up
    * If only cpu (i7) in the loop, i only get, at most, 4-5deg less in temps
    * for cpu only, we will need at least a triple rad to handle moderate oc's on the i7 procie. This thing runs hot like a furnace!!
    * if you decide to run 2 loops, 1 dedicated for cpu and 1 for gpu, then a triple rad for cpu and at least dual for gpu. gtx 295 and 4870x2 will probably need a triple also.
    * 1 thing to note though is that my gpu temps were the best affected by water cooling, temps never exceeded 60deg at full load. just a comparison, - 55deg idle and 78deg max at load with stock cooling as oppose to 40deg idle and 58deg max. nice i think

Anyways, just thought i'de update a bit. Still waiting for some parts to arrive so maybe with that, i can tame this i7 procie temp wise.

    stay tuned
