Relax lang, just a slight difference of opinion ramu, gamay rakaayo nga butang. I have used acetone also to remove AS compounds, its a little tediuous but it works. But if you have the AS solvent remover, then good for you It works for him, that works for you

Mao na silver although its highly conductive.... but it has its disadvantage..... this is the disadvantage... it will stick and react with other metals....

It tarnishes the copper / alu base of the heatsinks, research on WHAT that means and why it happens.

It means the PASTE is removed completly NOT the tarnish.

Acetone or alcohol removes it COMPLETELY? i have seen in the world wide web a lot of artic silver users showing what happens to their heatsink or processor thermal spreader..... that is why artic silver came out with their own solvent remover because users of AS were complaining.....

Based on my experience and several others acetone can remove it completely BUT leaves the tarnish, w/c doesnt have ANY impact on the TIM's performance if you need to remove the tarnish then lapping it with a 1,500 ~ 2,000 grit sand paper will solve your problem faster and cheaper than buying your beloved AS solvent remover.

Come to think of it silicon can also tarnish at a microscopic level, your chemistry powers should know that.. care to use thermal pads then

That would be you, incase you didnt know the zalman does leave a tarnish visibly or at a microscopic level.

I only use acetone/sandpaper to clean the HS base that im about to sell, since i have all the luxury in the world to test different heatsinks and TIM's that i find interest in.. whatever i dont like i resell it with a very shiny base
