Relax lang, just a slight difference of opinion ramu, gamay rakaayo nga butang. I have used acetone also to remove AS compounds, its a little tediuous but it works. But if you have the AS solvent remover, then good for you It works for him, that works for you

It tarnishes the copper / alu base of the heatsinks, research on WHAT that means and why it happens.
And since you FAILED in English, please do read again what i posted..
alcohol or acetone removes it completely. if you mean the tarnish that is left then..........
It means the PASTE is removed completly NOT the tarnish.

Based on my experience and several others acetone can remove it completely BUT leaves the tarnish, w/c doesnt have ANY impact on the TIM's performance if you need to remove the tarnish then lapping it with a 1,500 ~ 2,000 grit sand paper will solve your problem faster and cheaper than buying your beloved AS solvent remover.

Nya imo idea is tarnish ra..... Go back to chemistry.......

And do you think its enjoyable to consume several bottles of acetone just to clean it?

I need a product that removes without a problem.... ARTIC SILVER doesn't have that product.........

Sand paper all you want..... I don't have the luxury to do that..... I am paying good money for a product and in the end I have to labor with acetone and sand paper....

Why don't you INVENT something better?? because I don't need to go thru what you experienced....

    Several bottles

I can clean it with just a few drops of acetone..

    Edit:

So if its reactive based on you "websearching" & "chemistry prowess" , it still doesnt translate to anything. I would trust my personal experience over some 'random' guy here in istorya. show us facts and data sheets and ill gladly accept that im fully mistaken.

I already did, its called TX2 and MX2 who ever said you should buy the AS5 or similar silver based products, You are paying good money for the product knowing what it does and your ignorant of the side effects, how idiotic can that be ?

You dont want tarnish then DONT use anything else aside form the silicon paste since you dont have the luxury to do anything anyway.. ironic for a wanna be..

Come to think of it silicon can also tarnish at a microscopic level, your chemistry powers should know that.. care to use thermal pads then
    @Topic,

If its around 250~300 then it will sell like hotcakes!

That would be you, incase you didnt know the zalman does leave a tarnish visibly or at a microscopic level.

I only use acetone/sandpaper to clean the HS base that im about to sell, since i have all the luxury in the world to test different heatsinks and TIM's that i find interest in.. whatever i dont like i resell it with a very shiny base

Anyway good luck to your Zalman and chemistry profession.
