Mao gyud, mao bitaw purpose nga nag automate para wala na ng mga fees kay apil na sa ilang service.

AFAIK, BPI & Union Bank do not charge interbranch/out of town deposits. sa PNB sad basta suki ka, they don't charge.

Chinabank bro is a good bank, they are known for their services, nyways these are the terms on their deposit accounts way back last year, Im not sure if they still implement the same:

For savings account, you have an option if you opt for the passbook or statement, for the latter, they will mail you your statement on monthly basis at your desired address.

Minimum balance is P1K, you may open another savings account and link with your original atm account.

You may also open their higher interest yield savings account called money plus for a minimum of P20K. The increment is not much but atleast its higher than your regular savings account without any documentary stamp tax or dst (Banks usually charge dst for high yield deposit accounts). The interest is being paid monthly. However, you can only withdraw twice a month and you cannot go below the minimum amount otherwise the int. rate will be downgraded to regular savings account.

The requirements if Im not mistaken, are 2 valid IDs and an interview with the officers. It would be better if someone from the bank or old clients of the bank know you and endorses you since some branches are careful in letting the so called walk-in clients to open an account due to Anti Money Laundering Activity law.

Now I know you didnt asked for the checking account, but I'll post it anyway for the benefit of other readers who are interested to know. Checking accounts have a minimum maintaining balance of P5K. You can choose between personal and commercial checks. Checkbooks are worth P165 and P330 respectively. As for the requirements, Im not very sure esp. to corporate accounts, you may ask your friendly Customer Relations Asst. near you Im sure they will gladly answer your queries.

Now, from what I know, Chinabank has one of the lowest minimum maintaining balance on deposit accounts in the industry and they have many branches all over the place. They are also currently expanding their branches so it will be easier for you to get in touch with them.

Hope these info helps you in choosing your bank.

Merry Christmas & Happy New Year to all

go for bpi, bdo, citibank, export industry bank, i-bank, unionbank... but never metrobank.... metrobank culture sucks and the don't treat small depositors as clients but a nuissance based on experience...

the best banks so bar are bpi and bdo... but go for bdo since they open 7 days week and it's within a mall... so no hassles for saturdays and sundays... next in line is bpi... those are the top 2 banks...
