...it's only in the Philippines and other developing nations, countries too poor to have "internet for the masses" where TV will flourish. So ABS-CBN and GMA will still enjoy good money...but for how long?

Corporate TV is dying...face it.

It's the same with Friendster.com ... do you know that the only people in the world seriously using Friendster are people from the Philippines and Guam? Why? Because our internet infrastructure sucks so much, your slowest internet cafe can still accomodate the rather simple Friendster.com page structure. While everyone else in the world is moving on to Web 2.0 and 3D content, Filipinos still wallow and enjoy in Friendster.com...kay tungod lang sa fact nga hinay atong internet diri...clap clap clap.

affected sad ba ang mga reality shows ani?

"Reality" shows and game shows such as Survivor, Amazing Race, etc. are unscripted, and therefore do not require writers (with the notable exception of Jeopardy, whose quiz questions are written by guild members). They shouldn't be affected.

Reality shows aren't really going to fill the gap for me, since most of them are crap anyway.

A bit of positive news: CBS has reached a new deal with the WGA (translation: CSI and its spinoffs, Without a Trace, etc. are coming back)
Worldwide Pants also reached a new agreement (translation: David Letterman has returned)
Comedy Central shows such as Jon Stewart and Colbert Reports have also come back.
