That's my BIGGEST problem, they won't let us out even if we already complied with the 2 year contract. Ila mi gi hostage. Here is my ordeal...

I have a big f'ckng problem with sun cellular. I got a 3650 for my bro and my mom, both phones had a lock-in period of 24 months. My bro lost his phone 22 months after. Since we were aware that we need to pay 2 more months, we called sun and advised them that the phone was lost and to discontinue the service after the lock-in period and we will pay the last 2 remaining months even if we don't use the service. The CSR said no problem. BTW, sun's billing is constantly delayed. They admitted this.

The reason why we got Sun was their attractive handset deals but when they implemented the 24/7 call & text unlimited, we can no longer make or receive calls even on off peak hours.

After the 24th month we were surprised to still receive bills from them. To make the long story short, we were billed 3 months after the lock-in period. Since their billing is constantly delayed we overlooked the billing period because we thought the call to their hotline we made 5 months ago was the end of it. We went to their business center only to be informed that we needed to send them a termination letter to finally end our subscfription. Moreover, they said that they cannot disconnect unless we settle the whole amount which is for 5 months without any usage.

I humored their manager and told her that if your subscriber has already exceeded the lock-in period and decided to end his subscription and currently does not have the funds then you will not disconnect his subscription? the manger replied, "YES!" I told here that is HOSTAGE in my book. She said it is policy. Then I told her that is a stupid policy and asked to talk to someone higher but she said that after her no one can do anything more from me even the Manila office.

What I did was i paid the last 2 months of the lock-in period and to see me in court. Right now, I'm still waiting for their demand letter.

Meanwhile my mom's phone had no complications whatsoever and we submitted a letter of request to disconnect her line and paid up ALL the bills due to her line but GUESS WHAT? we still got bills AFTER the supposed disconnection date and that is WITHOUT USAGE mind you. We won't be surprised if Sun Cellular will tell us to settle those bills even if we RESPONSBILY already did our part us consumers.

    SUN SUCKS BIGTIME!
ah ok... smart and globe does that too... even if u exceed your contract as long as u didnt terminate ur service you still be billed. and that part even if u have terminated ur subscription they still bill you... thats common... i got that from smart and globe... even skycable!

i am aware that we need to have it terminated after the lock-in period and we did just that but they still billed us.

at the back of my head we are not a family of judges, fiscals, court staff & lawyers for nothing. in cases like these using muscle through influence comes in handy.

i am still waiting for their collection agency's letter and/or subpoena until now...

Because I've used it and it sucks.

i know there's a lot of room for improvement but hey give them time... im sure they'll improve. signing ur petition will prohibit consumers from using their service thus lowering their chance for improvement...
I think they've had LOTS of time. And if they don't think it's enough, then they should not fool customers with all their nice ads. They should state outright that there are common service outages all the time and that these are to be expected. They should not pretend their service is anywhere near as good as the other carriers. They are misleading consuemrs.

Here is my two cents worth,

I talked to businessmen on what they thought about Sun Cellular's 24/7 service. They are either a smart and or globe subscriber also.

They say before there was Sun Cellular 24/7 they use to get 10,000-15,000 on their monthly bills from smart and or globe.

now that their business contacts, dealers, customers, employees and drivers have sun cellular phone. Their bill from Smart and or Globe has been cut down to 5,000 and even less.

    So the benefits are there.

Me I don't have a Sun 24/7. I am a SMart subscriber after transferring from Globe.

I cancelled my Globe account after they overbilled me for so many months. I used to get charge by globe for excess SMS which I couldn't believe. Now I don't get overbilled by smart.

Sun 24/7 has its uses but don't use it to call other networks or for emergency calls get a Globe or a Smart phone.

Use Sun if there is no URGENCY to call since you are likely going to dial many times before reaching the destination

All you do is press the send button many times to be able to connect.... and there is no payment no matter how many times you call

So my advice get 2 phones 1 SUN for non-urgent calls or situations and get a GLOBE or SMART for those urgent calls....

Yup, i also have two phones, 1 Sun and my usual Globe, they are used according to urgency.

    OT:
I'm a prepaid globe user. They're offering our company a P300 plan with 300 worth txt, 42min worth calls. I'm hesitant to switch because of this overbilling thing you mentioned, and damn poor Customer service too. I'm also interested to switch to smart if they have such promos in our comp. Should I go for the 300 plan or not?

The petition is like a small fire burining under the asses of Sun Cellular's bosses. The idea is to make them realize that they have to improve their service because consumers are going to fight back. If you want their service to improve, I think this petition is one way to do it. If you have other ways, let us know about them too.

it takes time to improve service

they are buying equipment 1 at a time....

naa man new equipments ni gawas with better capacity and performance.......

so karon ilang subscribers 1million plus na

lets say palit sila 2 ka switch karon
then next year 3 ka switch

so mag ka improve gyud na...
