kung durability wise corolla jud ko dagan pagod among corolla 91 fighter pa 3rd owner nami..ang civic murag status symbol lang..nya mahal kuno paayo sa honda tinuod ni?

Are we comparing the current corolla or the Feb 2008 corolla?

Since sauna pa always last man gyud ang toyota mu come out sa ilang new model.

The 2008 one is supposed to compete with the current Civic, Mazda, Ford.


Mu comment lang ko sa cars being made into Taxis....


Naay japanese from Toyota ni ingon nga in other countries daw dili kaayo big deal sa mga tao kung himoon ug taxi ang auto...

It's only here in the Philippines nga mu look down ang mga tao sa car if gi taxi siya..

I'm sure everyone knows almost all taxis sa HK are Toyota (Crown Comfort)

Kita na sad kog Mercedes nga taxi in other Asian countries (Singapore)..that doesnt seem to bring down the image sa Merc.

Could it be nga image conscious ra kaayo ang mga ppl diri?

err.. i think you took my post the wrong way.. no offense intended to anyone...especially to leo's statements.

I do agree nga toyota's being turned into taxis says a lot about the cars durability...

To think toyota doesnt manufacture the vios in white color yet taxi operators purposely buy and have them painted white para pwede himoon ug taxi.

I guess its down to 2 things.... dependability and operating costs...

Dependability sa toyota brand... and relatively cheap parts and maintenance costs.


I don't know about the reliability of Hondas as the reason why taxi operators dont use them... I personally think honda is a pretty reliable brand also... problema lang is mahal ang parts and repair costs sa honda... so its not very wise for taxi operators to use them.

Also, add to the fact that honda marketing people dont want to lower the image sa ilang cars by making them taxis... ilaha sad nang decision... maybe their marketing studies show nga doing that will improve their image and add more value sa ilang cars to help the bottomline.

During the TMP meeting last year, local dealers had brought up this image issue to the upper management sa Toyota.

Toyota on the other hand are thinking "if they want to buy our car... why won't we sell it to them?"

Pero i guess the reality of the situation is.. naa gyuy image factor ang mga cars here.. I'm sure a lot of purchasing decisions were also made based on this image factor.

I think toyota is currently encouraging taxi operators to buy the Avanza. I'm not so sure though if there's a clause on the new Vios disallowing it to be turned into a taxi.
