Cebu is blessed with a good handful of drummers.

Legendary drummers who can play it with everything (and of course who are older than me...hehe):

- Marlo of Centerfold

- Winston of Pyramid

- Marx Lenin aka EZRA, younger bro of Kali - I heard him play on the phone.Â* This guy is REALLY good.Â* Has great jazz/fusion patterns.

- Blair - formerly from Robot Balloons currently with Uk'Liliy - great timing and feel.Â* Very consistent with his playing.

- Tata Umapas - now this drummer is the first technical drummer I have seen and played with, and that was back in 1991 (I was 13 years old by then and was soooooo n00b with bands).Â* This guy can play fusion, rock, jazz...what have you.Â* For me, it would always be an HONOR to play with this guy.Â* Because of him, I wanted to become a drummer.Â* Weird thing is that I became a guitarist.Â* HAR!

Drummers who I grew up playing and jamming with:

- Junnell Codilla - former Mr. Moustache and currently with Chained and Cattski - the human metronome.Â* Never garters.Â* He so skinny that you'd never think he could be a powerful pounder.Â* Very technical too.

- Marc Nadela - (because of the many bands he is currently with, I might fill out the whole page listing those bands) - I have been playing with this guy since I was in high school.Â* I must say he's one of the very few drummers I have good chemistry with.Â* Which is one of the many reasons why he's still my go-to-guy when I'm looking for a drummer.Â* Very technical, good feel and sometimes lazy.Â* HAR!

- Armand Paredes formerly from Lumen Auriga and Phenumbrae (former metal band of Edward, guitarist of Stage Crew) - double pedal drummer, has great emotion in playing.Â* Real technical guy.Â* And he's so in love with MIKE PORTNOY.Â* A leftie with no boundaries.

Badjun Salvador - there was a time in Artist Dais (when it was still in Raintree Mall) when bassist Chito Zafra and Badjun were jamming YYZ.Â* I played guitar during that time.Â* Where is this guy now?Â* Damn good drummer too.

- William of Freak and PG18 - great groove, really technical guy too.Â* Another leftie with no boundaries.

- Czar - formerly from Frank, PG18 and currently with Mano-Mano - the most humble of all the great drummers here in Cebu.Â* Plays with great feel and timing.

- Sam Codilla - Junnell's older brother, from Johnnie and currently plays with Manila singer, Allona - contrary to one of the posts above which mentioned that Sam was the guitarist of FIVEZ, he wasn't.Â* He was the DRUMMER of FIVEZ.Â* Steve Dinampo and Lloyd Escario were the guitarists of the said band.Â* The bands that Sam was a guitar player in was Mr. Moustache and Doll's Empire.
- I first saw Sam play the drums when I was still in high school during his FIVEZ days.Â* I said, "Damn this guy is good."Â* Over the years, I've become real good friends with this guy and have played with him during Allona's stint here in Cebu.Â* We've also been together during the Johnnie days and his playing still never ceases to amaze me.Â* He's also one of the drummers I have good chemistry with.

Drummers who I have seen but never jammed with

Mikmik - former TSK! and currently with Smooth Friction - great foot work with his double pedal.Â* And a very good drummer too.

Kit Omega - former Moby Dick - I have no news from this guy.Â* The last thing I heard was that he's the drummer of Zara Smith together with Budz igat as their lead guitarist.
- Kit is one of the very few technical drummers here in Cebu.

I don't know much about new drummers but whoever you are, I'm sure you are still true to the craft.Â* Continue on being good drummers.

I also forgot to mention these 2 guys that I enjoyed playing with:

Jerros Dolino - former Urbandub, Dr. Wakwak, Aliwas and currently with Sheila and the Insects - one of the rare drummers that has GREAT feel and a LOT of talent. CUJO!!!

Vince Corre - former Blackened and Asphalt Geeks - one of the greatest drummers I have jammed and played with. Just like Czar, he always has this smile when he plays.

suarez of the ambassadors.... he is so creative and kuyaw kaayo iya mga beat. dili mag balik2x. this guy is really good!
