for a dedicated server, even a PIII or lower can handle it, matulog rana ang CPU, the only thing going on "on your server" is the LAN(s) and Disk(s) only. so..., your 4core is overkill for a dedicated server.

lenght should not exceed 100m, if exceed, it will be less than the speed you have.

pareha tag prob bro..thats y i stop using pfsense gawas na mokaon ug ram ug diskspace..usually all-in-one server man gud ang kasagaran ako gisetupan so cant afford to use pfsense..basin ka2 mga gkan seminar mkatabang about pfsense..

theres a lot of ways to minimize ping spikes though..without using pfsense

for bare pfsense, you can even install it on pII with less than 256ram

unsa di-ay kadak-on imo pfsense config sa imo VM? it should be sufficient to have 1gb of ram to it [ayaw lang butangi ug squid ug other things, fpsense lang]
