proper shutdown
MUST have UPS jud
some bad sectors are not yet physical... backup data, and do zero fill/low level format with manufacturer utility. hdd sentinel has different levels of surface test, the simple write test sometimes is enough and if d mawala gihapon bad sector pwede ka mu proceed to next test, but be warned: THIS TAKES A LOT OF TIME than just buying a new hdd.

i remember naay tool named partition magic na maka ayu ug bad sector

mao sad ni akong problema aie, makatabang banang HDD sentinel ani?

When your setup needs more power than what your Power supply can dish out then maka corrupt na siya sa imong HDD.
Oras ray gihuwat. Maski ug i freezer pana nimo walay nay epekto in the long run.
Unya dili kaayo dako kaon ug power. Solid-State Disk can be compared to a USB drive. Less power consumption. Fast. Plug in play.
So make sure nga imong POWER SUPPLY makahatag ug saktong watts maski overloaded pa imong setup.
I download ni unya check the health of your HDD.

i only trust the OEM's HDD utility in fixing bad sectors... never tried 3rd party yet...

physical bad sect0rs can n0t be fixed by any kn0wn s0ftware...wla pa k0y nadunggan nga regenerative HDD...or magnetic disk platters that repairs themselves..
if logical bad sect0r lng...then pwede pa tingale nah using available s0ftwares.
Ato huna-huna0n that traditi0nal HDDs are using disks/platters coated with magnetic material...keeping a very str0ng magnet near your disk
is tantamount to killing it. Also, the disks spins at a very fast rate (i.e. 5200, 7200 and some SAS drives could spin as much 10k to 15k rpm).
The separation (flying height) between a disk/platter and the read/write head would be in single digit nan0meter range e.g. 3-9 nm...bisag particle sa sm0ke or dust cann0t fit there.
mao na siya nga if m0-kalit paw0ng ang kuryente or impr0per shutd0wn or lih0k0n nim0 ang deskt0p/laptop while the disk is running maka-da0t sa hard disk because ma scratch ang surface sa platter which again is spinning at multiple thousand RPMs.
ma0 nay cause sa at0 gitawag nga physical bad sect0r...logical bad sect0rs are just caused by software err0rs...but beware there are some malwares that could cause physical or mechanical errors t0 the drive itself by forcing the read and write head to move so fast than normal that it could als0 damage the surface of the disk.
i would not believe that ref0rmatting your hard disk very often every 3-6 months would physically damage your disk
and SSDs are already using FLASH type of memory...that means dili na siya magnetic type and no moving parts...
pasab0t ana...it cann0t be physically damaged bisag lih0k0n pa nim0 while ga dagan or there is a read and write operation.
downside to SSDs, they have only limited cycles of write and erase operati0ns...and write speed and seek times is a little sl0wer
compared to traditi0nal and/or SAS drives turning at 10-15K rpm.

makatabang bana ang HDD sentinel ani?
