sorry but i dont quite agree with most of this. cheap does not always mean their colors will look horrible on you, and just because a make up is expensive that will also not guarantee that it will look fabulous on you.
i have tried alot of make up from the high end brands like clinique, lancome, christian dior, estee lauder, chanel and clarins down to the cheapos like rimmel, l'oreal, maybelline, max factor, revlon and neutrogena and yet i cant really say the "expensive" brands are only the best coz personally some of the cheap make up i have tried can easily compete with the expensive ones, sometimes they are even better.
a big part of what makes high end brands expensive is their fancy packaging and the cost of advertising. but if you look at their ingredients, they use almost the same thing.
personally, i think when it comes to make up the most important thing is using the right shade that flatters your skin tone and the way how you apply it. its natural for us to prefer expensive brands, it gives us that sense of "luxurious feeling". but in reality the price of the make up is not the thing that will make you look beautiful on it because regardless of how cheap or expensive it is, if your using the wrong shade and its not applied or done correctly, thats when you end up looking like a clown...... or worst maybe looking like someone who was born from hell
