In today's games wala pah kaau m.support ug multiple cores..pero looking at trends sa mga umaabot nga games, they're slowly going there.. actually lisod man gud xa nga concept i.implement in a programming standpoint, kay ang g.lisdan sa dev is ang pag.implement sa CPU scheduler kung unsaon pag.gamit sa uban cores.. some games utilize 1 core for AI, the other core for environment, the other core for physics, so on and so forth.. pero this kind of implementation is inefficient, since the load on each cores vary on what is happening in the game, IE if the core 2 is responsible for Artificial intelligence and core 3 is responsible for environment, then if in-game there are no other AI's present but there is rich environment, then a significant load on core 3 (environment) is much higher to the load in core 2(AI)

Maau tah naa nkasabot sa ako g.explain kay medyo libog2 hehehe

but nonetheless, the reason why today's games simply do not utilize much from our CPU is because our hardware is too strong to be completely used up by most games...

playing at ULTRA settings stresses your GPU,those extra 2-cores will always come in handy to aid the gpu during gameplay...

not unless the game was programmed not to use the extra cores...

If we try to analyze the first post, we can notice a sudden drop in frames from 4core cpus to 2cores. Im sure a G840 is good enough for games. Im sure a nice gpu will primarily dictate the gaming experience. But the big question is up to what degree? Can you game with it when paired with a gt650? Yes you can. How about when paired with a 660ti. Yes of course. With an SLI gtx660ti? Im sure you can. BUT HAVE YOU GIVEN 30K WORTH OF VIDEO CARD JUSTICE?

No offense to you bro Lloyd, but with your setup, I think a even 2120 is not able to level up to an gtx 660ti sli's caliber. IMO, you can only give it justice when you havent allowed it to lose even just a single frame. After all you paid for that extra card.

This is just my opinion though as based on my personal experiences. Please take it with a grain of salt.

    ^ bro keropi,

no worries bro... lingaw man ang discussion diri... bulahan ang tanan basta open minded lang...

for me, the cost in buying a "K" CPU... either an i5 or i7 is not worth the extra FPS from the current i3 that I have on the current games that I've played now... BF3, Far Cry 3, Cyrsis 3 ug Diablo 3 (gaan kaayo ni)... naa'y limit ang makit-an sa mata... maong, settle down lang sa ko ani nya... even the G840 paired with the GTX 660 Ti SLI performs exactly the same as with the i3 on multiple players... 64 players on large maps and on Close Quarters sa BF3. kani sya, patay dayon then intense ang graphics ani compared sa large maps kay buto diri, buto did2 ning Close Quarters... kay kun dili ko satisfied sa i3, the next day, i already bought the "K" CPU... hehehe... pero, i'm sure, "there are games" out there na mo utilize ug 4 physical cores then dako ang performance difference nila sa 2 cores though, i haven't played those gaming titles yet...

by the way, the GTX 660 Ti in 2-way SLI is faster even than a single Titan... at a lower price cash outlay...

Gigabyte GeForce GTX Titan Review > Benchmarks: Battlefield 3, Crysis 3 - TechSpot

Sa question ni bro keropi ani...
BUT HAVE YOU GIVEN 30K WORTH OF VIDEO CARD JUSTICE?

akoang tubag... "No"... i didn't give justice to the twin GTX 660 Ti... here's the reason why? setting a pair of GTX 660 Ti is not anymore a "high-mid level" or "low-high level" gaming rig, as what an i3 was intended for (this is my 1st intent during the time i made a DIY on my gaming rig)... a pair of GTX 660 Ti is already entering into the realm of a "high-high level" gaming rig... so, it is "imperative" that it should be paired with an i5, i7 (K variant) or any SB-E CPU... or AMD's equivalent (limot ko mention ani dah... i'm not an intel fan boy ha...)

moving forward, ako, huwat ko sa release sa BF4... Q4 '13 man kuno, if need gyud ug quad core, upgrade nko ang gaming rig to a "K" CPU... for sure, barato na ni sila'g gamay sa ani na time diri kay ang daghan, mga Haswell naman...

+1. Though the charts tells us to spend more on the card for more performance boost, it is also telling us to invest at least on a quad core/2c+ht. The multicore support dilemma has been there ever since the first quads came out in 2006 and I think now with the presence of fully capable graphic engines like frostbite and cry engine I think it is now safe to say that finally we've gone past that issue. I hope intel wil jump in the bandwagon and offer more affordable quads. This transition may not take long and soon games will require more cores and AMD already has quad core offerings in every price segment below 130usd.

In defense pud sa i3, im not taking credits off its capabilities. It is indeed a very capable gaming cpu. It still is and remains today a potent adversary to all quad core cpus kung sa gaming lang. I know i sound like im going against my stand a year or 2 years ago, but that was 2 years ago. The situation now has changed where single/2threaded games are fast depleting. It hasnt yet but it will soon.

    @ Lloyd,
Im confident na sukol pa nas BF4. Mao lang kay luoy na sya compared sa imo 660ti sli. Samot na if imo i-vsync.

^ you're correct bro... kumbate pa gyud ang SB/IB i3 sa pagka karon as a gaming CPU... kay ang pinaka bug-at na new title so far kay ang Crysis 3... huwat ta's other new titles pud inig release... wait & see pa gyud ta ani... sige lang man ni'g Kinulafu (hata2x) ang mga game developers man gud pud... it's true na bug-at ang game if "Beta" release pa sya but after its official release, patches will be available naman pud para gaan ug magamit sa halos tanan set-up... a classic example of this is the current Crysis 3...

if productivity apps na mo gamit ug real multi-cores, aw, this is another story...

    ^ hehehe... ok ra bro...

na, basta grabeh ang dip, ilis gyud ko... hehehe... then ang i3 kay balihin nko sa mini-ITX... then ang G840, balhin nko sa entertainment rig... ang G530 w/ mobo, hatag nko sa akoang bro... naka E6600 pa sya ron.... mas pas2x pa man ang G530 sa E6600
