mao ni ang usa na maguba sa Lenovo after 5 yrs... ang iyahang "fan"... dili man lagi ma maintain nato ug tarong. unlike sa mga desktops... dapat, naa'y "Preventive Maintenance" ang mga rigs nato... desktop, notebook, netbook and tablet... kaso, dili ni ma ablihan ang tablet... hehehe...

sa akoang personal experience... gamit man lagi ko ug T60 & X60 for the past 6 yrs... akoang limpyohan ang fan every 6 months... so far, so good gyud kaayo to sila... kaning X230, pa limpyohan unya ni nako sa vendor kay under warranty pa man... atoang gamiton ang 3 yrs service warranty nila...

If you compare 2 models of the same price range from both brands, Asus might give you more value for money. Kung sa kalig-on, lig-on gyud na sya. But I think mas daghan lig-on models from Lenovo specially the thinkpads. Mahal lang. I am a Lenovo user. I think this is one of their cheap business class models with low specs but the build is exceptionally good. Low specs pero bluray ang disk. Ambot ngano. Accidentally stepped on it while it was open in the floor. Fortunately, wala man maunsa.

My sister's got an Asus ultrabook. Very solid 11.6 incher. Very sturdy for its size (maybe because alloy ang uban nya na parts). Touchscreen, win8, i3 with 4gbs of ram, and the best of all she got it for 27k 12mos 0 interest. Youd get the same specs and probably even better quality from Lenovo but be prepared to pay more.

lenovo are more inclined to business and office use like their thinkpad line which you can never go wrong with, pero mahal lang jud xa.

asus has more and higher end gaming models, and they really have good build, but the availability is really low here sa pinas. i think it will take a year or more pa para ma introduce diri ang ilang latest gaming line. i think ang available nga G series sa asus karon is sandy bridge pa, if i'm not mistaken, and older 500 series nvidia gpu. unlike lenovo, ilang ideapad gaming laptop, for example the latest model Y500, which was released last december niabot na dri sa pinas this early may.

also based sa personal experience sa gaming laptops:
lenovo = low to semi high end + slimmer build + lighter + hotter in gaming
asus = med to high end + thicker build + heavier + cooler in gaming

in short, both are good in office and everyday use. really depends on how you maintain it. but in gaming i prefer asus.

On the contrary bro, naa nay daghan models from Asus with Ivy cpus and a few with Nvidia 6xx (610, 620) VC by December. I am quite sure because i shopped with/for 3 people during the Christmas holidays including that of my sister's vivobook. Pero wala gyud ko kakita ug ROG or any model with at least a 650m. The ROG models are not locally available except siguro for a few imports..

Im using a Lenovo right now. This is quite thick also. My contractor (Huawei) all have Thinkpad 11.6 incher. They are quite small but they feel solid and weigh heavier than any 11.6 incher ive seen except of course for the Alienware M11x..

But i do agree, Asus also for me for the value..

murag dili nman gud considered gaming ang nvidia 610m, 620m gpu kron brad. at least for me. around the same level na man gud sila sa internal gpu sa ivy. hehe! familiar ko sa asus laptops and i only considered n series (with 650m) and g series (with 660m and up) as gaming. n series for multimedia and med gaming. katong rog line up ako ginamean nga low availability diri. murag naa ko nakita iorder pa sa manila pero sandy pa japon.

again, depende na sa atoang pili-an na notebook... Business Class or Consumer Grade... it would be "wrong" to compare both in an "apple to apple" comparison... Business Class models are build for reliability... for long term use... materials are w/ premium maong mahal... they are not "Flashy" in terms of specs... but very discrete. their power is under the hood... just covered in black...

on the other hand, Consumer Grade notebooks are designed still for daily use... but it is not intended for a very long term use... maong ang una ma kita na ning degrade kay ang keys nya... over-all materials used on the build are good too... its "flashy" by nature ... they usually have very nice aesthetics... feature wise, they are fully loaded too... reliability wise, it can't compete with the Business Class... this is a fact that is why, there are 2 target markets...

for the niche market, there are "gaming" notebooks... basically, they are Consumer Grade level...

    for me LENOVO THINKPADs!

First to check in my opinion is the specs and second is the warranty for each brands. Third ra ang aesthetics para nako but that's me, to each his own.
