just saw this. nindota ui. may lang jud nakasabot ko anang concept sa time dilation sa pag explain ni Stewie Griffin sa family guy. hahah. bitaw engaging ang drama niya pud. nindot sad ang twist ui maayu pagkaportray ang predestination paradox katong na sulod na xa sa black hole.
Just saw it. Long movie but worth it. I like the drama and acting of Matt Mconaewhatever - no wonder he's won awards.
The sci-fi part was interesting but confusing. I think I need to watch more Big Bang Theory episodes haha.
since everyone's seen it now...
the good:
-delivering exposition, about the state of the world, through conversation. the scene in particular I'm referring to is the Parent Teacher Conference where the audience is told what's going on with the world in the movie.
-use of practical effects.
-the space scenes. that docking scene, where they had to get the timing right, was ridiculous. worm hole and black hole scenes were both also breath taking.
-the acting was really good. Mackenzie Foy was superb. she was probably the best actor/actress in the movie.
-TARS
-Cooper and kid Murph's father-daughter dynamic. and Cooper seeing Tom go through different stages in life. and then Tom deciding to forget him since he doesn't even know if Cooper's still alive.
-the twist with Plan A. I love the message about how humanity needs to stop thinking about itself as an individual and more as a species.
the bad:
-the characters. the token Black guy was just there for exposition. the other scientist didn't even make it to the second planet because he was being an idiot and just stood outside the ship instead of clambering back inside where it's safe. Amelia insisting she has to grab Miller's data when they could have just instructed CASE to do it. and then after that, insisting on going to Edmund's planet because LOVE IS THE ONE THING THAT TRANSCENDS TIME AND SPACE. and adult Murph who, despite knowing his dad's mission, was still bitter that he left and only ever sent a video message when she was finally his age. you'd think she'd understand why Coop had to go after spending years being pointlessly tutored by Dr. Brand and tried to communicate to her dad sooner. adult Murph and her daddy issues just becomes really annoying.
-the happy ending. Coop goes to the 5TH DIMENSION and gives the gravity equation to his daughter via Morse code because LOVE IS THE ONE THING THAT TRANSCENDS TIME AND SPACE. literally. everyone is saved. Coop meets her now old daughter, he doesn't even care what happened to his other kid. then flies to Amelia because LOVE IS THE ONE THING THAT TRANSCENDS TIME AND SPACE even though neither showed any romantic interest towards the other at any point in the movie. like Nolan just pulled it out of his ass because LOVE IS THE ONE THING THAT TRANSCENDS TIME AND SPACE.
I'm probably forgetting some things, but despite all that lol I still loved it. I consider this as my Transformers movie.
good read on this though... be warned, spoilers
‘Interstellar’ Ending & Space Travel Explained
its feels like Bioshock Infinite all over again...
someone pls comment if this movie is similar to gravity (visual effects)? is it better or is gravity better visually?
Interstellar is grander, a much bigger visual spectacle than Gravity. I'd say it's better in that you're really awed and amazed by the visuals.
