walay problema boss, basically, gi check lang nato ang read and write speeds sa both drives using benchmarking software and actual file copies.

    high transfer rates = better
    faster copy speeds = better

    cheers!

Na check ba nimo ang TLER ug LCC sa RED? Naa bay utilities para mausab ang iyang TLER (disable) ug LCC (300)? Naa koy nabasa nga dili suportado sa WDIDLE3 to change the LCC ang RED... I'm planning to replace my FreeNAS HDD (4 x 2TB WD20EARX) ug RED. Hinay-hinayun lang siguro ug palit kay bug-at sa bulsa kung kausahon.....
    Thanks

nice effort boss kaotep. but aren't WD-Red designed for raid and such applications? meaning they will really perform better in such configurations compared to using ordinary desktop hdd's?

boyett - wala raba boss but from what I know, dili ma disable ang TLER sa Red drives.

werty - boss, the test was only intended to measure how the drives performed against each other. The difference between Red drives with the other consumer drives is that it is designed to run 24x7. it is similar to the green in terms of power consumption but without the frequent drive parking on idle. plus it has a different firmware that's designed for nas operation.
