exactly!! ingon ana jud situation nako sauna katong student pako.. pirated ra jud. pero karon nga nakatrabaho nako,.. di na jud ko mupalit og pirated ui.. reviews are there for a reason para pud maka sure ka na quality game pud imong paliton if original. dont just base it onto one reviewer, i would suggest metacritic since they collate ratings from several high profile reviewers and even self reviews from ordinary gamers.

if you go legit, you will never want to go back. awesome support, timely updates, quick downloads, fair price. sometimes, buying games via steam is cheaper than if you buy bootleg copies from Colon. you won't have to worry about viruses, malware, spyware, etc. you won't have to worry about downloading a 4GB+ file and finding out that your download is fake.

if you don't want to spend big, don't buy games immediately during release. get them 3-4 months after, and you can get them for up to 75% off. (you can get A+ titles for around php 200php!)

if a game is really good though, i sometimes pre-order and get some nice in-game freebies.

its not about being tough or sissy, it's about respect. you're saying people who cant afford to buy orig games have no right to own a gaming machine.

people get by their life however they can. I buy original games because i can afford it but some people cant. dont judge people because you have no idea what type of lifestyle they live in.

We actually do have an idea what their lifestyle is and what lifestyle they want. They can afford a "gaming" machine but yet fail to live up to the lifestyle they want? If one can afford a "gaming" machine and can't buy the games, then I'm pretty sure that money spent on the gaming machine should have gone to something else more important in life. Do we condone stealing gas because one bought a car and fails to factor in the price of fueling it? No. I do not see how this is any different. Shouldn't have bought the car in the first place and if already bought, sell it. If one has to go through hardship for themselves or their family to fuel their hobby, they need a different hobby. I suggest flying kites, rubber bands, bottle caps, or riding a bike. It's called being an adult and living within your means.

Piracy hurts the consumer in the long run. I'll give you a couple of examples:

1. Many big video game franchises such as Gears of War are now console exclusives. After suffering from PC piracy they decided to abandon the PC market altogether. PC gamers now have less choice than they did a few years ago despite PCs offering the best graphics etc.

2. Hollywood: P2P has hurt DVD sales and box office so much that innovation has taken a backseat. Studios are now reluctant to finance original projects and genres considered risky such as sci-fi are now largely ignored. Instead what we are getting are more and more remakes.
