i think the reason for the super slim is that for the price to get lower. the slim's components can't meet with lower price and come up with much lesser cost by integrating the electronic components.

Pwede ra sad, bro X. If there is an 80gb FAT PS3 that's backwards compatible then that's a great bonus But I from what I read only the 40gb (and perhaps the 60gb) PS3 fatty's were the only one's that still had the "emotion engine" integrated in the boards. Maybe certain models siguro (like initial releases of the 80gb PS3) but if I ever spot an 80gb PS3 fatty that doesn't have that then OK ra sad.

Again, I ain't trying to be 'cheap' with getting a 80gb PS3--I just want that particular model that's not JB'ed.

It's true that one of the advantages of the arrival of the Super Slim model would mean inflation of the older models. The cost and demand of the Fatty and Slim PS3's would drop in a matter of months in the eve of the Super Slim. Unless of course, if there are certain rarities of certain PS3 models--regardless their age. Condition, on the other hand, is also vital to its value.
I work in advertising and this is probably why I'm very coy in buying which console and when, I also happen to study behavioral consumer purchase--which is also why I tend to "wait" rather than buy impulse items.

But yeah, I'd still get an 80gb fatty PS3.

Hmm if I remember. that fat 80gb doesn't have EE anymore. it's CECHExx.... compatibility was engaged through software emulation. but still... i have no idea how many games would run... and only PS2's, nothing to do with PS1... i haven't tried them in actual though

Mao pud na ako gina huna huna, mas ganahan ko sa old slim kay nindot iya disc drive, pro naa pud advantage ang top loader kay sayu ra mag kuha ka disc if incase mag ka problema sa disc drive ug dali limpyuhan ang lens. common issue man daw sa old slim and disc drive.

Unsa man ako paliton, nag ibog ko da, mag huwat sa super slim or mag palit na lng sa old slim. O.O

mao sad ingon sko sa Datablitz tag 10,700 nlng cash price sa Slim.. maytag lagi gamay ra deperensya kay pasok kaayo sko budget ui!! hahaha! maytag mo ubos pani aayo next year!
