The place is nice but I'm wondering what would i do there aside from using the swimming pool? I obviously won't just go to an island to swim in a pool of a hotel? (no offense) How far is the beach? anything else I could go to to make may stay there (hotel and camotes) really fun? ^_^

Hi guys just got back from Camotes, stayed sa Hotel for 3 nights and mannnnn it was the best!

Of course I also did some country side tour since it was my first time in the Island. Santiago Beach is one beautiful spot, but if you wanna swim, you have to walk really far...

There is a beach nearby it's called the Mactang Beach, they say it's where the real Magellan Landing took place, it's about 10 - 15 mins away from the Hotel.

The famous Boho Rock abandoned resort is also 10 - 15 mins away from the hotel, nice kaayo i cliff diving didto, not safe for kids though...

Santiago and Mangodlong is about 45 - 60- mins away from the hotel,depending on how fast you go but the road there is excellent it's just like driving from the city to mactan. There is a short cut where it only took me 30 mins to get there pero rough road lang.

Good question @wan_eyE Yer right, who wants to go to an island and just swim in a pool when there are lots of pools here in town? It's actually more than just the pool, it's more than just the accomodation and good food. It's the warmth of the place itself...the relaxing feeling you get looking at the magnificent horizon, and if yer lucky you get to see a beautiful sunset! it's kinda hard to explain but there's a certain energy that you feel when you try and appreciate the beauty in front of you, it makes you feel lighter as if you were floating on air. You just got to try it to feel it.

Of course you wouldn't want to miss the beautiful beaches that Camotes can offer. If you stay at the hotel, you can arrange for transportation to take you on day tour to the famous beaches of Santiago Bay and Mangodlong. You can also pass by Lake Danao and if you like nature, you can visit the Bukilat Cave and the Tudela Falls, all of this you can do in just a day, after the trip, you go back to the hotel and relax in the jacuzzi... that's exactly what I did :mrgreen:

It depends on what type of accomodations you like, if you are on a tight budget, you can get rooms there for 500 - 600/night good for 2 pax. Aircon rooms at some resorts would cost you around 1,500 - 4,000. If you decide to stay at the hotel prices are posted above plus discount pa jud if you are an istoryan! great deal don't you think!

One problem I noticed when you go to Camotes is transportation, it would cost around 300 - 400 oh Habal Habal from the town of Poro to Santiago or Mangodlong especially if you arrive late. No jeepneys travelling on regular route there so it would cost at least 100 from one point to another. A group of friends went there last week and spent 4,000 on a jeepney that took them on a day tour, now that's expensive if you ask me!

Anyway, if you guys are interested about the hotel, just let me know because there is a special price for us istoryans...If you are going to the island and just want to check out the hotel, you can always drop by and ask for a tour
