Although Britain and France contributed heavily for modernizing Israeli weapons, but it was the due to the gross , quick-tactical response by the Isreali commanders, strategic planning, and the incompetence/bungling of the Arabs superiors.
Israel was pinned with multiple fronts, faced with Egypt in the west, Syria in the north, and Jordan in the east. These three countries could have easily destroyed Israel if managed correctly.
By far, the only thing that turned the tides of war was the destruction of the entire Egyptian airforce which was numerically superior than the Israelis ( Egypt was the most modern and largest of all Arabs states in military). And the Jews destroyed them all in just one day. The attack guaranteed Israeli air superiority for the rest of the war.
Second, Israel followed the Napoleonic War Strategy when faced with multiple fronts, the same strategy Napoleon Bonaparte himself failed to execute.
When faced by three enemies, instead of attacking all fronts at once, Israel kept at defensive position in the East and North, and focused on the largest of the three- Egypt. They dissected through the Egyptian military like knife on a butter.
Egyptian army units lacked any ability to operate in combined-arms teams (tanks, infantry and artillery working together and combined with close air support).
And this is the reason they failed against a smaller enemy.
After defeating Egypt, they turned on Syria, and kept defensives in the north against any Jordanian offensives. Wiped out the Syrian military, then proceed to finish off Jordan.
OH I almost forgot, two small contributions to the Israeli victory:
1) Desert Hydration - The Arabs allocated 1 liter of water per soldier PER DAY. While the Jews gave soldiers one liter of water PER hour. So the Israelis are much hydrated and better in battle physique and performance.
2)The Uzi - This allowed close combat fighting geared to an Israeli advantage, plus a much lighter weapon to carry on closed ranged assaults on Arab garrisons.
