I used to like to ABS-CBN news over GMA but I no longer do so. In ABS, there are lots of "SLANTING". They don't give balance reporting especially if topics include Maynilad and Meralco (Lopez owned companies). I started disliking them when there was still F4 fever in the country. Even though the story doesn't involve F4, they find some ways to pitch in F4, just to keep the audiences glued for a higher rating. They don't deliver their news straight.
One incident of exagerration was when Arroyo visited the Buglasan Festival in Dumaguete City. There are few protesters expressing their disatisfaction over the president but the way it was reported as if the whole of Dumaguete were against the GMA. The governor issued a protest to the network for the way it was reported.
... exactly miguel. ABS tend to deviate from the truth. They choose the news they want to aire. And most of them are useless. Like for example they always get the opinions of Cory Aquino and Fidel Ramos on their opinions on the government. I mean, what the heck could that do?? Is that important?? And their delivery, its sounds so corny and they have these "introduction" "TV Patrol World". Why cant they just say "goodevening, here's the latest news". Too many extras i might say. TV Patrol aint a news source anymore but entertainment
maayo ra na ang ABS when it comes to showbiz, they are not credible sa news and current events.
i'd say nga naa gihapon pagka-immature gamay ang Philippine media. but sometimes, malingaw ko sa pagka-immature. some examples:
-sa mga police report, when they have a crime suspect in police custody, they always show the victims landing some blows on the suspect in retaliation.
-if the crime scene is in a videoke bar involving some customers, the reporter always asks the witnesses what song the victim/suspect was singing?
hahahaha, only here in the Philippines!
... correct. foolish additions is always blended in their news. Why cant they be like BBC or CNN nor beating round the bush, straight to the point delivery. I love it when a certain segment ends they would always just say goodbye. No side comments like what ABS is doing " ito po si..ang inyong kapamilya naglilingkod sa ...blah blah blah. " Such showbiz veins. hehe
don't compare philippine media to americna media bro...!!!! its obvious that our environment is different from them!!!! that's our culture and if u aren't like that then accept the fact!!!!
... laying down the news doesnt has nothing to do with our culture. If you always associate everything to our culture then we cant progress at all. And for one thing, the filipinos have no culture. We are a lost people.
really!!! are u not a filipino!!!? pls...bro tagai sad intawg respeto ang atong nasod!! mora man kag dili pinoy!!!!
yes, i know nga majority of the filipinos are not educated like u....they have unethical attitude ug pasaway kays tanan.. but the media is doing thier best so that thier news wud be sabotable to the majority of the filipinos...and the media is helping to make that bad attitude change through that kind of delivring news youve said.... and accept bro that we are the minority!! and the majority wins!!!
VERY IMMATURE!
Concrete examples, Coup de Etats, Frat Wars, Impeachment Complaints, the "hello garci?" issue...
In other countries, the media does not expose anything if it is still based on rumor especially when it concerns national security.
@lypster: just please don't compare philippines and other country bec. we are not the same..!!
all you have said in ur post are reality in this country!!! wether u like it or not just accept!!
