Mixed reviews. Visually stunning as you'd expect from Scott, but a lot of the Alien fans are disappointed because Prometheus is a different film from what they were expecting.

Here's something to think about. Giger has provided designs so it will be interesting to see if the sexual undercurrent continues.

Gonna watch this on IMAX. Why do people expect this to be an Aliens movie, I think the director already said it's not an Aliens movie but it's set in the same universe. This is a special effects movie, with hopefully a passable script that's not awful e.g. Avatar.

I think because the film was originally intended to be a direct prequel, but then changed direction. Of course it retains elements from the original film such as the alien spacecraft and the "spacejockey" and Scott himself has been teasing quite a bit about the film containing "Alien" DNA. From what I hear if sufficiently successful this will be the first part of a trilogy which will bring us full-circle to the original.

^ Yep, everything is a trilogy nowadays. Can't blame the producers though. Trilogies make them big bucks cos they just reuse most of the props/special effects...

Naganahan kay kos ilang mga teaser trailers. Pabukal kaayo sa hype bah. Pero murag di man kaayo nindot ang reviews. Ahw naay nindot pero naa say nadisappoint. Muwatch nalang ko kay excited na sad ko makakita ni Michael Fassbender! Oh my!

sci-fi may be weird to some but it's a genre that has many fans. just wanna ask though what is weird in effects here? this movie seems to have amazing special effects. ok aliens was kinda weird but that's part of what made the movie great.
