Try to reseat the VC heatsink then replace/add a strong fan to it (if you cant immediately buy a new vc) Tie-wrap will do to fix it on the card. If this solution does not at least extend the operational life of the VC by at least 30min, try to increase the voltage by 50-100mv using software.
Update:
before I got to work today, I have been contemplating on buying a new one(video card). Just in case my Quadro NVS 290 will officially retire, what VC would you guys recommend? Not the high-end ones, just the regular, more or less the same specs with my Quadro NVS 290.
I recon, choosing between these two: GeForce GT 520M or GeForce 9500 GT. Which one would you buy? If you have a better suggestion, please do share.
Pila imu budget boss? I think a gts 250 will suffice. Old gen siya but faster than 520
520m is for mobile TS.
GT440 nlng palita.
@eXpLoDe: yeah, I gave the wrong link there, it was supposed to be 520 only not the other one.
Oh, well, it's official my Quadro NVS 290 has retired!
I'll be needing to replace it with a new one, aside from my choices GT 520 and 9500 GT so far, I only have two suggestions
1. GeForce GT 250
2. GeForce GT 440
what else? I prefer VC with less power consumption so that I won't have to buy a new PSU. A VC under 50W or under under 100W
BUDGET: Php 3,000.00 - Php4,000.00
