People are obsessed with records!

Drivers drive the fastest, some die in the relentless pursuit, they climb mountains, swim oceans, some train all their lives so they can split a plastic round pellet with a sword, anywhere, everywhere.. people are fascinated with r-e-c-o-r-d-s....

What drives these people? what fuels their obsession?

So what if you have the record.. at the end of the day, you still eat, sleep, perhaps have a headache.. or tulo gihapon imo sip-on.. so what?

You climb a mountain, reach and stay on the summit for a a few minutes, and you have your record.. so what? Does that make you a better man than the rest of the world?

You capture the biggest crocodile in the world.. so what?

snipers compete to kill with one shot at the farthest distance. i think the record as of today is 2475 meters using .338 Lapua Magnum cartridge. that is almost 2 1/2 kilometers... someone else will break that record. soon..

but what for?

to kill another human being.. just for bragging rights?

a USMC sniper in the vietnam war made a record of 103 confirmed kills.. instructors drill that into you when u go for training..

human lives..counted like cards.. like pickup sticks we play as little kids..
