We need to hear from both sides their views , comments and eventually come up with a remedy that both sides will always abide by it and make this an issue nomore. Somehow a form of standard procedure like an official agreement where everybody conforms with slight modification if ever needed. This will be good for Cebu breeders, dont you guys think so??

I would agree that an official written agreement would be the best method to ensure that the bitch owner would comply to his/her responsibility. It should also include the valid addresses of both the stud owner and the bitch owner so that the stud owner can confirm for himself if the bitch was indeed pregnant or not. In case that the bitch owner claims death of the puppies, he must show concrete proof that the puppies have indeed died (e.g.: pictures). That agreement also has to be notarized so that it would hold more weight in a court of law.
btw, i am a bitch owner and i recently had her studded, with an oral agreement for puppy share. 4 pups were born but 1 died after 2 weeks. Nevertheless, the stud owner came to our place and had the first pick of the pups as previously agreed.
Yes I should think so, for all concern that a written agreement is worth the trouble, You never know when its needed. The element of trust that a stud dog owner gives is most of the time taken for granted, esp if the dogs are not pedigreed/ without papers, can be sold easily, difficult to prove that your stud dog was the sire as a dna is out of the question. So just be extra carefull when you allow puppy sharing for this might cause a painfull experience. Recently I had a female doxie that came with an verbal agreement of puppy sharing. The bitch gave birth only one puppy. There were commiunication for the 1st two or three weeks but eventually he d owner just refuse to answer my calls or texts. Recently he had a litter and I was able to talk and he just refuse to compensate me because I told him that if there was only one puppy stud owner will not get the puppy but since I did not make everything in detail as in a written agreement no compensation can be received. Bad trip ! Of course stud cannot get the pup as its only one but the bitch owner could negotiate a small token and his conscience did not even allow him to come back for a 2nd mating becoz he did not want any more association which might spring up the topic of the 1st mating. Just beware of such people, my advice..........educated as he is , he is just a cheater.............and me a victim......
