@aaron101 I understand that you're concerned with the low wages of laborers, but I believe that increasing the minimum wage is not the answer.
Instead of forcing companies to pay their workers higher salary, why not create more opportunities for businesses to invest in the Philippines instead? More business == more jobs.
Right now, our problem lies in the oversupply of labor. High supply in labor + low demand for jobs = low salary. If you reverse the equation, you'll see that we can increase salaries instead. Low supply in labor + high demand for jobs = high salary. If you look at Singapore, Malaysia, Dubai, and other countries, you'll be surprised that there is no minimum wage. In fact, they're even importing labor from other countries such as the Philippines. Yet, don't you wonder why they're so successful?
We should abolish the minimum wage law. The government should stay out of intervening the economy. Globalization for the win! =)

ang mga taga visayas ug mindanao d man gud magka hiusa.. not like manila ug mag rally sila walay kan.anay.. kita dri tag pila ra ka oras mag rally2x kunuhay .. pag human wala ra d i.. lami unta e apil kaso d man gihapon ta dunggon gud.. utro sad corrupt ang ato mga politiko..

Philippines is overpopulated, ug mga tapolan pjud ksagaran...., so tanan apektado.. lisod balansehon ang economy...

Yeah agree with this thread. I think it's about time that the government should consider the economy of cebu. Our minimum wage should be aligned with NCR.
