Colon Street eyed as special tourism zone

i can't disagree with ms. beau. good point here. there will be a great distinct advantage for business in that area in the future. it would certainly change the business climate (for good) in the area for the betterment of such historic landmark or for tourism.

regarding the concerns of businessmen, i believe the plan will give their businesses an edge or at least a distinctive advantage. how many of us cebuanos prefer colon to cebu business park? or small malls to bigger malls? if colon will become a special tourism zone then that will be the businesses' edge over the newer and bigger malls. i personally would like to get that historic feel of colon...yes i would go there for that reason. the idea will still bring traffic (people) to the area. business establishments will benefit in a new, hopefully, better way.

Kung gusto nila himuon special tourism zone ang colon mas maau pud unta kung wad-on sad nila ang mga snatchers ug uban pang bad elements dinhang lugara. Its useless to make the place favorable for tourist if ang lugar dili man pud safe. ad2 nalgn kos sm or ayala maybe. hehehehehe. good pm mga bro.

well of course, if you have something as a special tourism zone, safety is part of the package. this includes eradicating the criminal elements in the vicinity. and probably more police visibility in the areas.

and i think it's high time that our oldest street in the philippines deserves its due recognition. can we start now? basin puro nlng pud ni plano. basin storya nlng pud daghan ani.

wouldnt this this add up to a worse traffic situation there.... we all know that colon is where jeepney routes in cebu city come to diverge....

they really should plan this well.....

Colon as a special "tourist" zone is an excellent idea. Tourist from allover the world can experience having their necklace, sunglasses, watch or wallet disppear before their very eyes! Only in da philippines... with matching call girls at 5 dollars a pop!
