@tolstoi, don't be so sure about Lite-on, I'm using two Liteon writers but there was a bad batch wherein many were returned. One of my Liteons included. Good thing I was able to revert it back to unmodified state before returning it for warranty.

LiteOn Combo ako..mo 1 year na gamit..read tanan DVDs, pirated and orig...never heard of that bad batch..coz before i'll buy any PC/electronic products i have to read reviews first on some forum sites and many would say that Lite-On is the best alternative to Plextor...

@tolstoi: The last batch of 2004 had many buggy units. You wouldn't find them on most forum sites. I got my info from two independent sources from at least two employees from two different pc stores here in Cebu.

As one employee said "Naa nasay return sa Liteon o!" (or something like that).

haven't visited the forum in a while. i wouldn't recommend Lite-on for writers, only for DVD-ROM. most of the people at cdfreaks forum still use their Lite-on for its reading capability, not writing.
