Yes I know we all wanted Nokia to go Android which they should have done so long time ago but they didn't. And if they do now, the Android phone market is already saturated right now that they will have to battle it out with other phone manufacturer's out there that already makes great Android based phones (eg. Samsung, HTC, Motorola). They needed a point of difference, WP7 could give them that. It's a risky move, but in business you have to make some tough decisions.
At the end of the day, this can only benefit us customers. More choices, more innovation, more cool stuff.
