    unless ug ipaayo nimo sa kilid2x..mubalik jud ang problema,but adto sa manufacturer,they have the right equipment to bring it back to life...but the drives you recieve is not your original drive you sent back....except sa case ni bai yoyong nga ni-hangyo siya nga kato gihapon ang ibalik...

    yea, could just be seagate replaced bad logic board / RW heads / fixed the firmware of his drive.

    i ask the help of infoseeker...sya ang nag facilitate para maka contact ko sa Seagate engr. & relay my concerns sa akong data(wala koi laing backup as this was my main backup disk)...i owe it to infoseeker(Jerome)...he has a lot of contacts in Seagate...kung wala pa sya...na ka-ubo gyud unta tu...karon i have 3 levels of backup sa mga family pics/videos/impt. scanned docs(diplomas/nso birth cert./training cert/etc)...hdisk-based & dvd-based...and a WD Passport 320gb for incremental(new) data...learned my lesson the hard way

    to all: whats your benchmark of your Certified Repaired drive? using HDtach, i got mine 250mb/s burst speed - not sure though... i might run test again if i have time.

    I suggest buy a Solid State Drive rather than the disk type. Regardless if Brand new or Recertified HDD life span is 5-7 years depending on use, if your lucky your HDD may run up to 20 years yet still it depends on the environment and usage.

    well, how do you know lifespan of SSD's pod? it depends on usage and environment too. (^^,) though no moving parts, leave us to know it all electronics after all. They all fail in time, its just a matter of when.
