i've been following this for a while now and i think what the thread starter needs is a hybrid sli or hybrid xfire in which the discrete graphics card can be disabled in 2D mode.

mao na akong plan pero for low end cards rman ang hybrid xfire or sli.. unless pwde e hybrid ang 4850 w/ 785G.. ok ra kaayo..

OT:ari lng ko post kai its about energy saving man pud ako question...hehehe

if you OC your procie... would it increase the power consumption? bsan d nmu change ang voltage? im planning to OC my procie but wa jud ko alamag about overclocking...stil researching...hehehe

yup.. it increases the power consumption.. pero mga 20-30 watts maximum ang difference...

increase gyud consumption, mao bitaw naay uban kung sobrahan overclock dili na mo on kay dili naman ka daog ang psu nimo.

but the question is... heat and wear/tear... minor oc's like 5-10% is okay.. anything above that coupled with prolonged use is just asking for trouble.. IMO...

If you don't need the power, put it back to normal... If you really need more power out of your cpu, do OC but be mindful sa heat it generates and what it does to the parts.. While you OCing.. Save up and upgrade!
