Kana mga tawo ni ngoy-ngoy mag-sige lag pangaway kun ang ila kabayo malamangan.

The last time the Filipino people voted for a president based on surveys WAS a disappointment. Remember Erap? Same IQ? Pwede.

There is no hope for the Philippines anyway. As Machiavelli once said, the people only get the government we deserve. As a matter of face what makes us Pinoys think we deserve a good government when we ourselves have the worst attitudes we see in these leaders. Maayo lang jud ta manaway kung wala ta sa puwesto, kay SUYA lang ug naglaway sa kuwarta kurakot. Kung kita pud o atong mga parente/amigo ang naa sa puwesto, hala party na dayon kay "It's our turn!"

Think first before criticizing our leaders. They are a reflection of the Filipino people, nothing more nothing less.

I don't think it's appropriate to the majority of the people. Only those who are used to power and greed are practicing these kind of attitudes. I don't have those and so were with my ancestors.

Oh come on what country do you live in. It's commonplace in our society to turn a blind eye or even praise "minaro" style. These leaders came from the Philippines correct? They come from our people are elected by our race and we are no longer a colony so we can't blame the Spaniards anymore for the way our country is run. Machiavelli is known as a political genius for a reason, his observation that the people always get the leaders they deserve has never been proven false. In fact it's only logical. Even if a country were ruled by a foreign ruler, it would still be technically the fault of the people for failing to fight against the invasion. Do you ever wonder why it took 400 years to get rid of Spanish rule? It's because our people, long before the Spaniards arrived, were divided and had incompetent leaders- eg, we deserved to be colonized because of our own incompetence.

Or is it because of geographical and cultural considerations we failed to get rid of our colonizers for 450 years? Remember, we were in the same boat with the Native Americans and, believe me, they were not incompetent. So were with my ancestral Cebuanos.

Actually the Native Americans were divided into several warring tribes and the infighting and constant warfare that occurred well before the first Europeans arrived weakened their society to the point that they were several hundred years behind the invaders in terms of technology and cohesiveness. Though several European nations eventually competed against each other they did come up with a workable agreement wherein they could effectively rule different portions of the land in peace for quite some time. So yes, I do believe the Native Americans were to blame for their own incompetence. America was multiple times more fertile and mineral-rich than Europe there was absolutely no reason a society there could not thwart an invasion unless it were incompetent (which it was).

Anyway this is a futile argument. Who are you going to blame for the mess we are in? Who voted Erap into power? Who voted Marcos into power? Who tolerated the corruption of Kamag-Anak Inc under cory? The corruption of PGMA? Face it, we are in this mess because we deserve it.

They were not and the Filipinos are not. Our perception of civilization and society is different than those from the white race. We don't have greed and power and the land was free to anybody who chose to make a living there. It was changed by the white race. Theirs is of a greedy and power-hungry lot, that includes your Macchiavelli guy, whoever he is, I don't know him. This race of men has a big appetite for corruption and land and seemed to hate everything the land offered including their own. I am glad I don't have more than 10% of their blood in my veins.

Yes Filipinos voted for Marcos but we voted more for Serging Osmeņa but the plane that would give Osmeņa the win did not arrived on time.

Yes Filipinos voted for Cory because we believed in change and we won against tyranny and we looked back with pride despite our imperfections.

Yes Filipinos voted for Erap but the result was copied from Pulse Asia and SWS and we get rid of him after more than a year in office.

Yes Filipinos voted for GMA because we are romanticists and would want to revive the fruits of EDSA but we were disappointed by the First Gentleman.

Yes Filipinos will vote again so we could redeem ourselves by choosing the right leader to lead us to the right direction. We are not perfect but we are a nation and we have to do our part to stay as a nation, regardless of what others may say. We don't give a damn. Just leave your opinions to yourself and leave us alone to do our business of nation building.
