    Tommy’s Backing
Even Cebu City Mayor Tomas R. Osmeņa agreed that if Davide would be elected as governor of Cebu he will unite the officials of the city and province.
Osmeņa and the governor are not in good terms as a result of the failed land swap deal between the city and province.
The vice governor said he tried his best to settle the conflict between Osmeņa and Garcia when he, together with some provincial officials, met with Cebu City administrator Francisco Fernandez, Councilors Jose Daluz III and Augustus Pe Jr.
The vice governor yesterday started criticizing Garcia by saying that the latter failed to come up a real One Cebu.
“You try to go around the province, daghan na ang disgruntled, wala makauyon sa pagdumala sa gobernador.”
Sanchez claimed that he observed that the Capitol is presently dictated only by one family, the Garcias. “Mura’g nabantayan nako nga naay dictatorship, dili ka gani paminawon.”
He said Garcia proudly announced that the Capitol has about P2 billion of surplus or savings under her leadership, but provincial treasurer Roy Salubre told him the Capitol only has about P400 million.
Mayor Osmeņa said “You see how they have been dishonest? What is Tandang Sora going to say? The province says it is debt-free, yet it owes the contractor of the Cebu International Convention Center almost P300 million because of the mismanagement.”
Capitol’s consultant for information Rory Jon Sepulveda admitted that the province cash on hand may not reach P2 billion, but it has close to P1 billion of cash in bank as he promised to give proof of it to the media.
Sanchez also criticized the governor because he observed that she started to get mad at him after he advised her to rescind the deed of sale for the purchase of the P98 million property of the Balili family in Naga believing that it is disadvantageous to the government.
Another issue that forced Sanchez to abandon the governor is the latter’s stand against his proposed Trans-Axial highway that will connect the northern town of Daanbantayan to the southern town of Santander. — /NLQ (FREEMAN NEWS)
