CASABLANCA - Best Love Story on Film. Ever.
schindler's list and pearl harbor
Schindler's List was for me the best I have seen so far. It was very brave in its plot and effect on making it into black and white. Acting was very convincing though I could not remember if any of them won the Oscars. It was Steven Spielberg's best for me. Very creative and the way it was portrayed will make you feel that you were there. There were disappointing parts but I think they were in the minimum. I love the way they get to involve the real survivors and their families at the end. The movie wasn't bias. They show how Oskar Schindler lived and survived first as a war-profiter to a hero. I think the movie would have been more effective if it gets to mention how Oskar lived and died in poverty after the war.
The Pianist got a nice story but the portrayal of the war wasn't as grand as it was in Schindler's List.
Life is Beautiful was also quite creative in its script. I think it deserves recognition as well as the director who also starred in it.
Most of the old films do have interesting plots as well, but if you are used to present-day movies and you get to compare them everytime you watch those oldies, you may feel disappointed coz you tend to expect some great war scenes and effects that are not available yet during that time. But when you get to watch those old films, just focus on the storyline and acting.

its a true story during WWII Nazi occupied Czechoslovakia. A team of Czech Assassins trained by the British were dropped back to thier homeland
to assassinate the highest ranking Nazi officer of the land. The successful Assassination of Reinhard Heidrich (spelling) angered Hitler and led to a counterattack which crumbled the town of Lidice to ashes killing thousands of innocent civiliians. The Assassins were discovered in a city cathedral after months of searching thanks to one of the members who betrayed them. Despite a severe gunbattle in the cathedral, the NAzis werent able to apprehend them, To prevent capture, the assassins killed themselves and eventually became NAtional Heros of Czechoslovakia.
