a familiar photo, common practices in rendering (glasses).... default values on Refraction, :P adjust a little bit more on transluncency, reflection dims the diffuse surface so be careful of using that. fog bias & multiplier are not well balanced hehehehe.... sorry for being a judge wak wak wak wak wak.
anyway check this out: Vray 3D Architecture animation YouTube - Vray 3D Architecture animation, I really don't know why you are using 3d/game engine like what you said about Truevision3D... if Truevision3D is not capable of handling that, or with such a very manual way, that's very difficult to finish. And also, your goal is only to have a walkthru in your campus, using 3D/Game Engine is not the best solution. you aren't building games, like creating facial/emotions, objects & sprites, weapon effects and more...
can you give me some screenshot inside of that building?

I choose to use a game engine so that the users can go anywhere they want. a vray 3d animation is very time consuming sa rendering nga part.
anyway, here's the interior of that building peru dili ni sa game engine... sa 3ds max na ni nga na render na..
gi-remove nako ang rooftop para makita nimo ang interior.
That's nice, but users are limited to view only the floor plan (not enough for public viewing). How about interior designs, structures, furnitures & stairway? forget about vents, & electricals (except for lightnings)...
actually what you need is 3D Visualization module, with common features like spinning, tilt, walk and all those common thing for 3D viewing.
for me Quake Engine is still the best free 3D Game Engine...

@salbahis: hmmm... correct me if I'm wrong... Quake Engine is designed for FPS games like half-life... meaning you can't create a game like starcraft or warcraft using quake engine... kung pwede mn... medyo lisod cguro...
and you will code using their scripting language right? that means medyo hinay ang performance kung i-compare to 3d/game engines nga programming language jud ang gamit... like C, C++, C#...
hinuon kung gusto jud ka paspas imong development sa imong fps game... cguro nice jud ning quake engine...
but as for now, I'll stick with Truevision3D because it's very flexible... you can create all kinds of game types...
actually, Truevision3D is not a game engine... it's only a 3d engine because it is built on top of directx... bale wrapper lng ni xa sa directx...
usually game engines like quake, unreal, etc... are bloated with features but the downside is they are designed for a specific game type... thus wala kaayo ka freedom and most of them kay mag-code ka using their built-in scripting language which is slower in performance.

@markcuering: naa mn na stairway. dili lng makita kay natabunan. unya ra ko anang interior designs like furnitures pag mahuman namo tanan buildings... currently we have 6 buildings and another 6 buildings to come pa.
studyhan pa nako ug ayo ang lightings and materials para nice kaayo tanawon. sunod mag-study ko ug shaders para mas munindot jud ug ayo. hehe
anyway, kanang kaila nako nga ga-model ana kay paspas kaayo na xa makabuhat. she can make 1-3 buildings in a month...
naa unta koy business proposal ba. hehe
kanang mangita ta ug mga schools or any establishment tapos mag propose ta sa ila nga himuan nato sila ug virtual tour or pre-rendered 3d animated walkthrough... tapos ang mag-model kay kanang kaila nako or kaila ba kaha nimo nga maayo in architectural modeling...
dako kaayo ni nga kwarta ba. hehe
what do you think? hehe
pwede rin, but i'm more on shipbuilding, plant & rig design, a serious 3D modelling for engineering & production drawings, plate nesting/CNC cutting, BOM, and more... actually modelling an existing building is easy especially if the actual design/layout drawings from the architect are available in hand. you can actually make some money with your ideacurrently I'm out of the country kaya medyo mahirap... anyway, I'll give you some small projects for your own practice
no deadlines, just do it for fun...

wow.. big time kaayo imo work. hehe
student pa mn ko ui...hehe... peru naa na ko experience anang work2x... nakasulay na ko ug part-time job as a web developer... ug kasulay pud ko as a freelancer... peru gisumhan na mn ko ug web development... diri na pud ko aning 3d. hehe.
wow... cge ba. thank you. hehe.anyway, I'll give you some small projects for your own practice. no deadlines, just do it for fun...![]()
