time to upgrade your sluggish system =P
OT:
SLI was pioneered by 3dfx engineers (i remember when i had 2 voodoo2 cards in sli), so when nvidia bought 3dfx, it had its hands on 3dfx's SLI technology. ATI engineers, on the other hand developed their own version( Crossfire) most probably from scratch, so nvidia has the edge.
pero come to think of it, ati had a 2-gpu card (rage series) out before 3dfx marketed its voodoo5-based boards which had 2 gpus on the card...
hehe m sure this would demolish my 9600 Pro lolOriginally Posted by EarlZ
Rage128 Pro was the card name if i recall correctly. The SLI you see now is no where near the SLI 3dfx had, they had to start from scratch also BUT with the idea of what to do, the old SLI method used dongles ( 3dfx time )
3dfx had a quad gpu card, Voodoo5 6000
EDIT: i just noticed i typed Rape128 instead of rage128
Do take note that those figures are released by ATI and does not mean that its the whole truth, and sadly everyone alreayd knows that QuadSLI is still useless ATM, they should have pitted it against a 7900GTX SLI rather than a 7950GX2 Quad SLI.
what id like to see is Conroe / Kentsfield with a Quad SLI set-up!! that should fully utilize the card.

testing to be done here
OT:
i envy that shamino guy.. one of the first few to get a conroe, now he has a kentsfield ( actually a long time ago ) and now a sample of the X1950
any idea on the power consumption of this beast?
