Confidence is earned through experience so normal ra jud na ma shy ka or makulbaan during your interview kay wala pa man ka experience sa call center.. Nag start man ko from scratch. I am a second year HRM (Undergrad) wala'y work experience. Ang gihimo ko is I always watch english movies na naay subtitles because at that time mahina ang Hearing Comprehension ko sa English hehehe.. and I read lots of English Books. Any books will do as long as di ka ma bored. Ma remember ko pa gani na halos tanan na books na basahon ko dapat naa'y picture Kay dali ko ma bore pag pocket book na english ang basahon.. Sakit sa ulo.. At first ni apply ko sa ETEL but they rejected me at that time kay kelangan daw bachelors degree and computer related ang course.. Very devastating sya kay aside from that disappointment daghan pa jud side comment ang mga tau sa amoang "Sitio" na kesyo ang Valedictorian daw nila wala kapasa as a call center agent ako pa daw kaya na undergrad and without honor pa... But then due to my combined desperation and perseverance nakasulod ko sa SYKES and stayed their for 2 years and 4 months.. And at this time guess what.. Naa nako nag work sa ETEL "STREAM"... And I am very hopeful na happy ending ang pagbalhin ko..

Anyone can work @ a call center--you just have to speak good english, have people skills and have computer skills. The training is there to enhance the english skills as well as train you for product specifics. But you have to accept the fact that working @ a call center is just a temporary job and it can't be a career due to the fast turn over. But as long as you're in, take most out of it and save money--it does pay higher than the minimum wage. Aside from undergoing training, you have to be ready for the changes in body clock as the accounts usually American would really work you up round the clock.

As for what's related to your course, I know it's hard to find the ideal job that could make you happy both physically and monetarily. It's ok to take a different route and be @ a callcenter or wherever as long as you don't forget what you really love to do and have a fall back after all

Good luck! As long as you're happy, go for it!

Many posters had already expressed their opinion that you should follow your desires. I go for that too. There's no job comparable to the one we love the most. But there is always a catch, since desires can change over time. Actually desires are just mindset so it is inevitable. Anyway, just think it over for a while. Think about your future. If you'll go culinary what then after 10yrs? If you'll be a call center agent, what then after 10yrs? If you'll stick to being engr, what then after 10yrs? Think about it. Ask yourself if by going with in this path, will it lead me to my long term goal? It is true that the future is uncertain and is just a whole bunch of mystery. But it is not a reason not to layout a plan.

i know plenty, like a lot of people who are not that good at speaking english, some are even worst speakers xx, and to my surprise they got that call center job. what im trying to say here is that, there's a lot of call centers in town that doesnt really have that high standards in hiring their future employees. maybe you still havent applied to these call centers yet. seriously, i find your english quite good, which now makes me wonder.
