In fact EVAT and population control are conditions imposed by the IMF. Thats one proof US is screwing us.
POPULATION CONTROL
first off, lets state that as a generally Catholic country this is an issue that would be debated over and over before any government population control programs will be implemented successfully. let's pretend that there's no conflict in this issue between the church and the government for arguments sake. now that we got that issue out of the way, we'll discuss how the US is screwing the Philippines thru population control.
let's cite average income families here, what's wrong with having 2-3 kids? what's wrong with living to a standard that there's a greater probability that you can send all your kids to school because you have only two instead of eight? 'coz instead of trying your best to "just feed" your 8 kids, you can use the money to send your 2 kids to school and maybe get a degree for that matter. it's not only practical, it's a wise decision. where's the screwing in that? maybe you have a better explanation re population control that we're not aware of, so please, kindly enlighten us.![]()

You have the right for your own opinion bro... Basta for me, American companies pay their employees way up higher compared to working in most Filipino owned companies...
To whom should we be grateful, our own countrymen and politicians who are corrupt and taking advantage of our fellow? Our filipino businessmen who pays only a dime to their employees while they enjoy their profits, buying unecessary expensive things and like having a vacation in... the USA? In the first place, our country shoudn't have became "independent" from the US. If we weren't, we could have been a progressive US territory, like Hawaii or Guam...
If you were in my shoes you might be grateful to them as well... that's maybe the reason why you hate them so much because you aren't...
why hate the US, let say they are using us in some ways but we are using them too..
Are you insulting the victims of the 9/11 attacks by saying na its a karma for the US?Quote from: istoryador on July 16, 2006, 10:47:33 AM
These terrorism activity by arab militants and bin laden group all over the world is just a reaction to the greed of USA. The U.S. practically controls everything in the world and no country is brave enough to challenge it rest it would risk annihilation.
This is karma for Americans who for 100 years have been controlling the economies of the world especially in the Third World, including RP.

Well before you give a thumb up sign, just be sure the other party has rebutted. EVAT is imposed not so much for the ordinary Filipinos but for the government to pay its foreign debt. In my layman understanding about our debts, the US trhough IMF wants RP will be able to pay its due that is why it is dictating how our people will be taxed. At the same time, it vigorously campaign to reduce our population because fewer people means fewer government spending.Originally Posted by Spec-V

Blame the government for the downfall sa atong country. Our country needs United States as one of greatest allies in Asia. So far maayu man ang pagdala sa American government karon.
Loans & Credits is a responsiblity not a privilege my dear sir. If the Money was properly distributed & used to the needs of the Government & to its people, then everything will be Rosy. Granted if the Debt is sky high but @ least you can see it in your very eyes that there is an abundance of improvement like Military Hardware, Improve living conditions of Inmates & its facilities, Housing, Education, Infrastrctures & on every block theres a park/playground for kids & the like. The list goes on & on...Originally Posted by istoryador

a) Marcos
b) Cory
c) Ramos
d) US
e) all of the above
is it d) US ? c'mon man. the Philippines' foreign debt didn't just pop up by our doors one saturday morning. you're talking about loans, debts etc etc and then blame the US for controlling the IMF on what the terms and conditions should be imposed. why not get to the root of all these? blame those who incurred those debts and loans and those who failed to pay for them on a timely manner and stop blaming the US, whom I think, didn't have a cent gained on those transactions. why not start owning the blame? it's very clear, it's not the Russians, Chinese or the Japanese who made those loans, it's the Filipinos.
and why is the US screwing the Philippines again?

^^ and in my POV, that's a good thing. what's wrong with population control? it's not only practical but that's what we badly need right now. in case you need to read further on my stand, please read this post I made earlier re population control.
