Keep in mind the OP said "in my experience".

By the way, does anybody love Pentax/Sony here?

ok unta sony pero problem lang is mahal ra kaayo xa. pentax is nice pud.
then murag magkaproblema na ang sony if high ISOs na. noisy ra kaayo xa.

when it comes to buying SLRs man gud, you also need to consider the accessories (and lens) that
you will also purchase in the future. kasagaran man gud diri sa cebu kay nikon or canon.

but nonetheless, they are good SLRs

    never ending story...

parang telenovela lang na walang katapusan...

most of the photography book I'd read never state what brand they use, instead they inform the readers about what type of camera they use for the shot...

    ex.

    35mm SLR, 85mm lens, 1/4 f2.8 ISO 100 film or
    DSLR 17-35mm lens at 35mm, 1/10 f3.5, 200 ISO

the author/photographer never mention brands but settings...

you will never get the best skintones in brands, you will never get a sharp image in brands, you will never get a best shot with brand names.... but you can capture moments with camera and never with a brand name...

I suggest to the MODS lock this thread cos this will be another senseless topic...

if viewers would like to compare camera and view reviews pls go to the thread DSLR Talks. more info and less flames.

Most of the reviews that I've read say that Canon takes better photos than Nikon.

Canon takes sharper images, has more details, well-balanced colour, etc.

I read somewhere that Nikon's photos are a bit "saturated." This might perhaps be the reason why other people are saying that Nikon takes better photos.
