Mass Effect 2 is red hot! It definitely is my most anticipated RPG of this console generation.

Mass Effect 2 is the sequel to the highly acclaimed space opera RPG, Mass Effect. The game takes place in the year 2185, two years after the conclusion of Mass Effect. With the Reaper invasion stopped and Saren and the geth defeated, Commander Shepard learns that entire human colonies are mysteriously vanishing. Shepard won’t act solely by himself, so in addition to his team mates (old and new ones), he will be joining with the human supremacist organization Cerberus to resolve the mystery behind the vanishing of the human colonies.

The infamous conversation wheel system will make a comeback in the sequel but with more complicated moral choices this time. Mass Effect 2 also features regenerating health as its primary health mechanic, instead of being able to heal with “medi-gel” as in the first game. In addition, the overheat system for weapons has been replaced with collectible ammunition. The game’s visuals has been improved drastically, and some of the glaring technical issues has been ironed in the sequel.

It's a 2-disc set!

Chris Priestly, the Community Coordinator for Bioware on Mass Effect 2, confirmed this week on the Mass Effect 2 forums that the highly anticipated sequel is too much goodness for just one disc, and will be shipping on two (with a three disc collector's edition on the way).


1 - Yes, there are 2 game discs for both the PC and Xbox 360 versions, both the Collector's and standard editions.

2 - There is a 3rd disc with the Collector's Edition. This is a movie DvD containing making of and other bonus information.

3 - The PC version is a standard install. You install the information from both discs and then play with 1 disc in the drive. No swapping.

4 - You can install the game to your Xbox 360 Hard Drive as long as you have enough memory to do so and have the correct disc in the drive when you play.

5 - Even though there is a disc swap, it occurs at a carefully planned place in the game (that does not interfere with gameplay) and is done once. You do not swap back and forth. 1 swap and then done.

6 - Why 2 discs? Answer: Because you cannot fit this much awesome on one disc.
