I have some little info about this automation stuff .. but can't say much since i havent yet seen the whole process or atleast the blue print on how will they take ur votes , will where database be and how updated there software security is.. Yes this can be hacked, not by hackers or Govmrnt but by the developers who develop it. it is up to the company and developers to commit there sincerety.

I fear that the the developers might plant a logic bomb in the automated system that would activate during the vote counting which would allow a certain amount of votes to be added to the paying candidate . . . This is a very easy thing to do, they don't have to hire hackers to ensure winning, all the administration has to do is pay the developers beforehand right now to tweak the system as they wish . . .

So who's reviewing the code and who's ensuring the security for this system?

Let's act now! Let's get involved. Let's not allow our own democracy to hang in a predetermined balance . . .

Indeed, we cannot argue that we will have no cheating this time. After all, some are just too desperate to win.

But then again, we have tried the automated polls in the recent ARMM election. Contrary to what was said that there are some discrepancies, such is not reported to the media. And I don't think the media will just be quiet about it if there are really discrepancies since it will be another scoop for them. We should grab this opportunity of having automated election, yet we must also remain vigilant, if only to erase negative thoughts.
ARMM election was not a total success. If such reports are disclosed, well, there will be no poll automation for 2010 to happen. I could think that they are polished. What's ironic is the machines used in the pilot testing were different on the machines to be used for next year's election. How can we call that as a "pilot testing"? IMO, it's not bad to have negative thoughts at all.
