the psp dev community is very silent regarding the downgrading of psp3000 and psp 4.01 OFW TA-88 V3 Boards. It seems it will really take longer than usual. They recently scrapped the gripshift umd exploit hack since it has been patched by sony 5.03 OFW.

No new update has been found yet.

It is better to save money to buy UMDs or Trade your UMDs with others. UMD prices are slowly going down.

plus Sony is going digital downloads with their PSN store like itunes and steam. That way it's much cheaper especially for those who don't mind having a physical copy (UMD). If this type of system will click then expect cheaper games that is if there will be more games to come of PSP from US and EUR market. I didn't notice that many titles coming from the western market compared to Japan, they're just flooding with PSP games library. Hopefully, the UMDs will get cheaper but then again the rarer they get the expensive it's going to be.

I don't think it's a good idea either to upgrade your psp-2000 to psp-3000, not much difference except for a brighter gamma, color display and mic. Also, there have been "rumors" lately of another psp coming out. Well it's just plain rumors anyway so it's much better if we just wait for official announcements from sony besides E3 is coming and hopefully we'll get some news on the psp side.

The Grand Return of Fanjita: PSP-3000 now fully hacked behind the Phantasy Star Protable Exploit

Just when we all thought there is no more hope for the PSP-3000, Fanjita comes back, and armed with a fully workable exploit for the unyielding PSP Brite. He's been quiet for some time now, but little did we know he's been up and about tweaking away on the Phantasy Star Portable exploit, which was only "potentially-an-exploit" by yyoossk just last week.

And don't we all love a nice, pleasant surprise? Things can only go up from here for our fave handheld.

Phantasy Star Portable - Image 1Homebrew working on all PSP firmware (even 5.02) with a Phantasy Star Portable GameSave Exploit!

Justwhat does this do, need you ask? Well, it only lets you, PSP owner, on ANY firmware the ability to play homebrew applications, games and emulators till our hearts content or till we explode from nostalgia. So without further ado check out the simple steps for running Fanjita's oober-cool hack at Brite.

Guide for running the developed Phantasy Star Portable Exploit:

    * Check that you have an Japan or US version of Phantasy Star Portable (Japan:

ULJM-05309, US: ULUS-10410). Work on the European version will be following soon.
    * Extract the contents of the 'MS_ROOT' folder from the ZIP file into the top-level of your memory stick. (HINT: If you wind up with an 'MS_ROOT' folder on the stick, you've done it wrong).
    * Start the game, and as soon as it gets to the 'Press START' screen, press START. If you wait until the demo has started, the exploit may not work.
    * The screen should go blank, and the exploit will start after a few moments. It doesn't do anything except look pretty at this stage - but feel free to enjoy the first homebrew on your PSP Brite.

Partially hack naman ang PSP 3000. I can make it run homebrew games like Nintendo Nes Emulator and stuff. Call me at 581-7597 for details.

Yup, HEN for PSP3000 and TA-88V3 mobo and those previously psp's that can't run homebrew are now a thing of the past since the recent release of chickHEN by Davee. (google for more info) Now, it's just a matter of time until someone will release perhaps a iso/cso loader or cfw. until then, stay tuned lucky psp3000 owners.
