i totally agree that this kind of radio programs should be banned (Wanted Pangga nd Hi Pangga). Ako jud first impression ani nga programs noh ky they're just promoting immorality in the society. This is based on how the listeners (those who interact) and the society today behaves. Mura ug gisakyan man gud sa mga radio stations and DJ's ang ka-init sa mga batan-on karon. They know that s*x sells, so they make a way para ma-get ang attention sa mga batan-on pina-agi sa programs nga walay pulos. It hurts but it's true, kasagaran sa mga tawo karon ky sexually active na kaayo especially men. Mao na ang reason nga pwerte na ka desperado makakita ug ka-date... what happens after that? everybody knows. Well, not all jud nuon mao na ang gigukod but i think most mao jd ang ang tumong.

I'm glad to hear and read reports that the said radio programs are stopped. i hope dili ko maka-dungog ug the same style of programs in the coming months/ages.

IMHO, I don't think the radio station has anything to do with it. It was the will of the victim and the decision of the victim to go with the suspect/killer.

Bogo ra pud kaau ang victim nga mo uban2x sa tawo nga dili nimo kaila. More if makig-ilis pa sa cellfone. Come to think of it.

yeah, it's true that the radio stations has nothing to do with whatever the interested partners will agree during their date. But, but, but it could have been avoided if they don't air such program. Ang ako point ky imposible kaayo wala sila kahibaw or walay feedbacks from their listeners what's happening sa mga nag-date2x... talking of immorality here. Also, imposible kaayo wala sila kahibaw nga prone kaayo ilang program sa mga bogus characters and intentions of the ones joining their program. Ila lang pod gigamit ang pagka-inosente sa ilang listeners gud. who are most of their listeners, by the way? dba naa sa class c, d and e? I think daghan na ang bati nga nahitabo sa mga nag-date through their program, kani lang ang grabe kaayo. Minor incidents are not reported.

the best thing these radio stations could have done is to educate their listeners, dili ky kanang non-sense nga mga butang/programs. Ga-usik2x lang na sa kwarta... text2x then magka-uyab? whew, just for the fun of it. totally not acceptable.

I you can notice the radio commentators themselves say na " they are only bridge sa mga kataw-han" either sa kaayohan or kada-otan. Karon kung e-cancel ang program they will now say na it's up to the listener. kung mangayo ug donation "Bridge sila sa ka-ayohan" sounds inconsistent...... I totally agree in CANCELATION OF THIS PROGRAM.

dapat kaning wanted pangga nga program ang isuspend...

this a common thing among us. naa'y mahitabo nga bati, diretso cancel, ban ug uban pa... not even considering the good that the program has caused.

    talking bout the girl...

if that girl didn't meet that guy through the radio program, she could've met him elsewhere. chat, random texting, newspaper ads, dating websites, mutual friends and other possible channels. you might as well ban all of them right? but noooo... no can do. coz you just can't. people will find ways. what she could've done to avoid what happened, is NEVER trust strangers no matter how "nice" they might seem. it's always better to get to know them first before agreeing to meet them in dark streets alone, such as that of the NRA.

para lang nako ha, it was mainly her fault jud. first, she swapped phones with the guy on their first meeting; second, she insisted on meeting him alone at that time of the night, in an area as unsafe as NRA. her friend even said that she wanted to go meet him alone. she definitely had it coming.

You're right, bro/sis. It's her decision man to meet the guy. Ang girl jd ang sad-an maybe out of her innocence and lapse in judgement. May she rest in peace though. But my point why i directly hit the program/radio stations because they have this what we call social responsibility. It's the kind of program nga ila gi-broadcast ang dili maayo. If these radio stations/programs are underground stations then they could have gone away with their social responsibility pero legitimate man sila and they even occupied the frequency nga naa sa center sa radio frequency spectrum. Kung sa negosyo pa ang radio station/DJs ang middle man. Middle man nga bati, sige lang ug take advantage for their own benefit.

she could've have met him elsewhere <<< true but through these (blind)dating programs mas gipadako sa radio stations/programs ang posibilidad nga mahulog ang mga inosente sa mga kamot sa mga naay mga dautang tuyo o personal interests lang. mura ug nigamay nuon ang kalibutan.

Take for example the way these programs are carried out. Out in the open jd ang details sa ila pagtagbo.

i understand your point on that. but don't you think banning/eliminating the program is overkill? yes, they have a social responsibility and i completely agree with you. they have to make changes, specifically on constantly reminding their listeners of the things they should be careful of.

now about announcing their meeting place, what they're going to wear, how they're gonna look like... isn't that something they could change if they feel that they have to after exchanging phone numbers?

i'd like to think of it this way: gi himoan ta'g sidewalk para makalikay sa mga peligro sa kadalan. kung mag lakaw ka sa tunga sa dalan, imo na na'ng problema kung maligsan ka.
