oh yeah, another thing good about that movie is they encourage you to QUESTION, THINK, not just think, CRITICALLY THINK and ANALYZE....that applies to the movie "zeitgeist" itself.

do I believe in everything the movie showed me??
    NO...i dont know...not yet.<===i'm still questioning it

and so much for your "zeitgeist response".
the fact that it only focused on ONE aspect which was the RELIGION bit makes it really more like a DEFENSE MECHANISM. murag na-igo bah

reminds me of 2 movies...V for Vendetta and Meggido (although obviously funded by the church, shows relevance to that control the world/NWO thingy)

...remember remember, the 11th of September.haha

regarding the issue on religion, it would be difficult to UNDO those what have been said and done regarding those holy thingy...anything in conflict get blamed to "the devil's doing". a self cleansing mechanism....well that's FAITH.

this movie reminds me more of the matrix...

here's why... this is not my essay.

Systems are set up to create order. Sometimes order comes at the expense of others. Sacrifice some civil liberties to feel a little bit safer from the savages. Religion is a system, our government is a system, the economy, schools and health departments are all systems. The only problem is, the things they are keeping in line are people, with intellect, values, interests and opinions. To keep all of those things in check can become crippling.

A movie that portrayed the largest system for humans ever imagined is The Matrix. The Matrix is a virtual world where people's minds were soothed by the thought of living in a free world, with choices, opportunity and a blue sky. It is possible to wake up from this place by being approached by freed mind and taking the choice of staying in or waking up. This movie is much more than a fantastic story and show of special effects. The principles laid out in this movie offer insight to anyone who has ever been awakened from a system.

After taking the red pill you see the world completely differently. You now have to live underground and eat fortified oatmeal snot for every meal. The world is now a miserable place, and the things that truly threaten your life become apparent. It is easy to see the connection between movie and real life here.

Though you have now been awoken from the system, you still have to enter it from time to time to handle business. The freed minds often jack into the Matrix to meet with others, or to neutralize threats. Once you understand the truth of the various systems we live in, you now are free, however it doesn't change the necessity to use these systems from time to time.

The only risk of entering the Matrix is that you cannot cause too much disturbance because the system is self sustaining. One of the first rules laid out by Morpheus is that everyone who is a slave to the matrix is your enemy because they all have the potential to become an agent. Think about it. If you told someone that the presence of the FCC means that there is no true freedom of speech, that person probably would write you off as a "conspiracy theorist" or a "crackpot" because the system is self sustaining. This person, instead of listening to what you had to say and having a decent conversation with you turned into an agent, using demoralizing tactics to put your "radical" ideas to bed. This was seen when Agent Smith first approached Thomas Anderson about his behavior on the internet.

However depending on the severity of your behavior you can be much more than ridiculed. If you spoke out against profiteering news networks on live TV you will lose your job, credibility, and possibly other opportunities to work in news, simply because of opposing the system. This puts the newly freed mind into isolation. It would be completely unrealistic to go into the Matrix to make friends because you will never relate to any of the things they have to say. The things that concern them would no longer concern you, so you are stuck with the same 7 people every day, putting a social damper on the newly freed mind.

What this means is that anyone who does not understand the system as you do is your enemy. Meaning relationships might have to be put on hold until further notice, or just plain terminated. Neo, Trinity and the other members of the team probably had friends, family and other people who they were close to, but in an effort to find truth, must discard them until they can be saved later. This is a burden not everyone can handle. So temptation comes into play.

Cipher a member of the team could not handle the ills of the real world. So he decided to be reinserted into the Matrix. The Matrix is a great deal more comforting than the real world. Seeing the illusion of sunshine can bring warmth to those who will allow it. This can happen to any of us who are awake. The pains of being in such a crippling institution can cause one to relapse and take pleasure in what our masters have set up for us. We let go of certain freedoms, and turn our back on truth for comfort.

The best part of The Matrix, is that now that they understand the system, more things become possible. Jumping from buildings becomes like hopscotch. Running on walls, dodging bullets, and even flying become possible, when they were previously viewed as impossibilities. Once we understand that the limits placed in our mind are not our actual limits, but those of the ones who would try to control us, all things become possible. We understand our true potential, we soar to new heights with renewed vigor in opposition of the system. Artists fear pursuing art because they fear the bills they have will not get paid. What these people do not realize is that bills are not going anywhere, they will always be there and can control you if you let them. Once you let go of those fears it becomes possible for you to soar to new heights artistically. Successful artists only (independently) become successful after letting go of the things that held them back, whether it be dead end employment, education or relationships.

The only part that does not add up with real life is the concept of the one. The one is a man or woman, born inside the matrix who can destroy and recreate the matrix as he sees fit. This would mean that we are all waiting for the one to rise up and messianically save the day. This is still crippling. We don't have to wait for anyone to rise up, we all have the potential to become the one. We have the power to change things as we see fit, but we so frequently let it go in favor of complacency.

The Matrix is a great example of how art can convey truth in a way that news and other media will never be able to. Take from this what you will, but try your best to free yourself from the restraints these systems try to hold over you.

    One love.
