i do not know what it is with korean movies (even teleseryes) but they got the flair that what amounts as deep void in hollywood movies. or perhaps it is just because the version of pizzaz that korean movies have appeal to the pinoy psyche. but anyway...

*** is Zero follows through the genre that was popularized by My Sassy Girl; a genre characterized by comedic storylines, soft sexual innuendoes and drama. tons of drama. i do not know if the korean formula has been exceeded (even replicated) in other countries on adeptly combining romance, comedy, slapstick, drama and your all-around tear-jerkiness.

It is the same with American Pie in that it is a teen flick, but it wildly surprassed it as American Pie only focused on the stereotypical American teenage life, or more appropriately, coming-out-into-college-so-i-need-to-get-laid life. its Korean counterpart on the otherhand explores more maturely and freely on life and the weights of one's decision, and tells this in a tapestry of comedic scenes, smoothly transitioning into drama, and back again many times in the movie. American Pie simply did not do that.

but what is remarkable about *** is Zero is that it deals with all too real issues of abortion, intimacy and sexual partners in a level that is quite unprecedented for a teen movie that actually makes you laugh at the same time.

Bag-o lang ko nakakita ani na movie and it was so hilarious...., i've been thingking sometimes that eunsik have 7 lives like cat...hehehe..., pero naluoy lang ko ni eunhyo kai gi pasagdan lang siya ni sangkok sa dihang na buntis na sya...., and when she suffer after her abortion.... buti nalang naa c eunsik mapag care.... thats the real guy!!!
