    But the floppy is still needed to install driver for the mobo's controller. The driver is needed for windows not for the board to recognize the sata drives. As long as your mobo is sata capable (unless you use add-in card controllers), your board will recognize it eithier auto or for some, some bios setting changes must be done..

    the primary HD choice in the states is the Western Digital Raptor, @ 10k rpm. WD has a very good reputation there. Seagate is the choice here since it's the most commercialized HD in the Philippine market.
