What I undestand is that the Party List system was conceptualized to give opportunities for some marginalized sectors of Philippine society to be heard and have the chance to participate in legislation to further their causes. It is still in its maiden stage and may need some fine tuning but personally I think abolishing it is not the right move.

Specially in the case of the Batasan 5. For so long we have been persuading and encouraging the leaders of the left to abandon their armed struggle and instead participate in our democratic systems that provide for everybody including the Communist Party of the Philippines, the proper forum to ventilate whatever they want to say and espouse - but they have to do it peacefully and according to the laws of the land.

I think it will be wise to let them continue testing the grounds, hoping even further that they can get results through their experiences in Congress. By then maybe the prayers of so many of us to stop the carnage of Filipinos killing fellow Filipinos will have a glimmer of a chance of being answered...

meaning you really want it to be abolished??

do you have substantial basis to support your grounds?

ifi your basis is corruption... then you are also suggesting to abolish congress in totality?
