I'll be buying a setup next week... and im torn between this two... AMD 3000+ and Intel PD 805 2.66GHz...

As what I have read from other forums, AMD is good in games and PD is good in video editing... Im really confused... Im a bang-for-the-buck kinda guy and Im really budget conscious but really needs a powerful pc that is in my budget range... I dont want a top of the line pc coz I definitely cant afford it...

I just wanna play some games like NFS MW and am into photoshop...

hope somebody can help...

Anyways, you're right about wattage being very huge for PD unlike AMD... but somebody wrote that he can OC PD up to 3.4GHz...

Im not an overclocker but im really into techs... please help somehow...

same here, confused as you are.

But to me, amd3000+ weighs more in terms of performance, games.
Dont judge me because i choose that.

here is office, there is a dual core and seems slow, it cant handle too well,
the CPU bar just dont reach 100%

anyways, here is what i'll be buying if what you say is right:

AMD Athlon64 3000+ (32))+ kung naa pay gamay musobra)
MSI RS482M2-IL (with built in ATI 200 video card - somebody said this is ok already for gaming)
1GB Kingston RAM (para sa built in nga video)

I will not buy any videocards yet until MAy siguro if i'll have additiuonal budget...

simple ra na! go to tomshardware and see how two CPUs compare to one another in their CPU chart.
just select two CPUs of your choice, then set the software you'll be using 'em for...
so if you're into games, choose the game you wanna play from the list and then see how both fair in the chart.

they don't have a PD 805 in the list though so just go with the 820 and estimate nalang from there.
(the 805 should be just a tad slower than the 820)

if the difference isn't that big a deal to you then you can go with either one. i guess depende nalang na sa price.
they'll always have pros and cons. just weigh 'em out and you can choose which ever you feel more comfortable with.
